i understand this is all for competition between the RB, and I am all for that... questions about the salaries though, if they end up cutting one of these three before the season starts, are they on the hook for all the money?

I think they are. Heard them talking about this on Lavar's show today, and he said Parker's people made a big point of the fact that Parker will come in and accept whatever role he is given, not complain about how many touches he gets per game.
Lavar was pretty hyped about this signing, but then again he's an admitted Steelers homer.
Guess Shannahan isn't impressed with this year's RB class... that or he is overly impressed with other positions (OL!!!) and want to save all our picks for them.

This is all well and good, but by the time the draft is over with I sure hope we have 2 starting OTs on this team or all these RBs, WRs, and QBs are going to wish they were somewhere else (probably Shanny and Allen too if they have to suffer through Heyer's version of the swinging gate on game day)...

I doubt all three will be on the roster come opening day. I'd bet both the LJ and WP contracts are structured with little guaranteed money, allowing the team to cut bait whenever they feel like it...
Most teams use their back-ups for special teams, and I can't see any of those guys playing on special teams.
However, it doesn't hurt to bring experienced backs into camp and let them battle it out.
hmmm...whats the plan, whats the plan? How much 2 back did Shanny run in Denver and would it make sense to have 2 of the 3 (CP/LP/WP) in at the same time? None are great point of attack blockers I don't think. Parker 3rd down back?

some here are sounding like they think that we are going to be competitive again soon - we are picking in the 4 slot because we are not close to being competitive
we are looking to have a consistently competitive franchise in 2012 - very few of the players here now will be a part of that, especially on offense
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
One of these players has to emerge as the top dog. Larry and Clinton were both high profile backs. Now you throw in Willie Parker? Lets see what happens. Indeed this is an interesting move to say the least.
Here's a thought. Shanny was saying when he 1st got hired that an experienced back needs to work harder to keep his game up. Maybe he's bringing in all these guys so no one can coast and they'll have to all out work each other... or maybe its just a desperate ploy to merely buy a years time to fix other problems.

Since we had one of the worst OL in the NFL last year, and there were no holes for CP to run and he got hurt, and then LB also got hurt ...
then ...
we are planning to have a rotation whereby one RB only runs for 4 games next season. Once he gets hurt,he goes to IR and the next one takes over, but only for 4 more games because ... we have two more disposable RBs o finish the rest of the 8 games in the season among them.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

You can't believe anything said for public consumption at this time of year. If we DO keep all of them, I want the crutch consession.

It's really not that big of a deal - we no longer have Betts or Rock or Ganther and we added Johnson and Parker - looks like we are a little better off in the RB department AND we are going to need to run the ball better than we did because the pass protection is going to not be a whole lot better for a while

I agree to some extent on all three. This position problem may be fixed by 2012. In the mean time I think Shanny may keep three or maybe two, then rotate to keep fresh??? Not sure. CP was never afraid to take on a block, thats why I respect him. OL is priority now.
