Potential Lockout - 2011

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Potential Lockout - 2011

Post by brad7686 »

Is it just me, or would that be the worst thing that could happen in the history of sport. This ain't hockey or baseball. You can't just have a lockout whenever you want and not upset the populace. To me, it would hurt much more than it would help anybody, because football games DO make money.

And the season is so short anyway. You can miss a quarter or a half of a baseball season and it still drags on for a long time.

This would be terrible for the sport.

It would be horrible but luckily there would is a UFL in place for now that may provide the league with replacements people have at least heard of.

It's amazing on both sides how with all that ridiculous amount of money, they will both take nothing in their pursuit of more. But it's happened before and will happen again.

I suspect the owners wanted a cap free year, but will work harder on reaching an agreement once free-agency starts.

Neither side wants a lock-out. Not saying it can't still happen, but I think this is more a move to clear up salary cap space and start over.

We'll see....

It's considered very likely by the players and owners that there will be no NFL played in 2011 - this is not new information to most fans

the owners will actually make money - this because they are guaranteed income from TV contracts - this is guaranteed revenue

the players are already postioning themselves to be able to handle a lockout financially

the only 'guys' that are hurt by a lockout in 2011 is the fans
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
