By the end of next season, he'll be working in some time as FS and Nickel, as well...

First they sign Daniels again with plans to use him on the first string D and now this. So now we have a medicore lineman on D and a guy who's not a linebacker playing linebacker. We are also planning to use our rushing ends as linebacker too. Four guys out of place in the front seven.

Gee, I have a lot of faith in the 3-4. Throwing a system at the opposition is always better than designing a D built around the strengths and weakness of your players.

D will be a problem next year. You can count on it. This is the wrong thing to do and these moves are pretty much the proof of it. I can't wait until the new FO takes a QB at 4 and an RB in the second round.

Everyone assumes that it's a strict 3/4 on here but everywhere it's been said that it's going to be more of a hybrid 3/4 than anything. I think it's going to be set up for Orakpo to rush more and Daniels to play more inside next to Haynesworth. I'm intrigued to see what it will look like.

I realize we're lookin at all the pieces scattered, but this move in particular seems the most odd. I realize that he's a versatile guy, but come on ....a DT at LB?
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

I can't see him in coverage, but the dude can tackle in the open field with ease. I think this guy would be awesome at DE in the 3-4

True! I forgot that he is also used on the offensive side!

welcome to the speculation zone - I agree Frank, we are most likely going to see something quite different but .... we have a long way to go and are going to need to see a lot of changes across the spectrum here - there is so little to build on and and so few players on either side of the ball to build around, it's little wonder that many fans are trying to speculate on what might work

I think we are going to see a complete re-vamp of systems and culture here and we probably not looking at many players from last year even being a part of the squad in 2012 - some will be kept to basically provide some help but there are going to be a lot of changes in the next 2 seasons

we are just a group of talented players - we have not been playing together very well at all - Shanahan and Allen will expect and demand some accountability and a winning attitude before anything else
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Where did it say he'd be a starting OLB? It looks like they have a few packages that may benefit by having him lined up at OLB... so what? And who's to say he can't cut weight if he does intend to play OLB more often? Too many variables here to get upset about it this early, imho.
