Cheerleaders Heat Up Dominican Republic

June 14, 2004

The Washington Redskins Cheerleaders traveled to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic last Friday for their seventh annual swimsuit calendar photo shoot.
For everyone involved, from the photographers, makeup artists, hairstylists, swimsuit sponsors and the 42 cheerleaders themselves, shooting the calendar is always a great deal of hard work. Imagine getting up at 4 a.m. for a photo shoot and holding a pose for hours in the mid-day sun! No one's complaining, of course, because it's well worth the effort to reflect the spirit, beauty and pride of the First Ladies of Football.

Later this week, the cheerleaders will change from swimsuits to uniforms to put on a variety show for vacationers and guests of the resort. As always, there's nothing like showing off a little Redskins pride to everyone from California to Western Europe--and there are plenty of autographs to go around.

The first Cheerleader diary entry from the Dominican Republic comes from GeNienne, a Redskins Cheerleader team captain and the squad's 2003 representative at the Pro Bowl.

GeNienne
June 11-14

"Last Friday, June 11, marked the first day of the seventh annual Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar trip. Forty-two eager and excited women arrived in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic ready for their photo shoots.

"When we arrived at our hotel resort, the Bahia Principe Punta Cana, we were greeted by live entertainment and excited employees and tourists. After checking in, we held practice for a show for hotel guests. We wanted to bring a piece of the Redskins and Washington, D.C., to the Dominican Republic!

"After a relaxing evening, Saturday was the first day of the calendar photo shoots. We started at 4:30 a.m. and didn't wrap up until 6 p.m. Well-known and respected photographer Richard Hume selected a manifold of exotic locations throughout the resort. We had ladies wear sexy swimwear in addition to an amazing body-painted two piece swimsuit!

"Thirteen cheerleaders have completed their long-anticipated photo shoots, all with sexy smiles on their faces. Stay tuned! There's much more to come."

Be sure to check back throughout the week for more of the action from the Dominican Republic.

No14Mike: How in your right mind can you call Ramsey a bum? That's the last thing I think when I think of him... What, for being the starting QB and then having your team sign a vet? He's taking it like a man now and is willing to compete. Just curious why you would think this as a fan.

I'm with RSC on this one. Those are two very disturbed-looking cheerleaders there.
I'm getting some kind of cross-eyed thing from one of 'em, but only from the corner of my eye. Looking straight at her, I don't see it.
Huh.
I'll let T-6 have my cake, too. I'm oddly full. :(
