Drew Brees...
...is NOT yet a Hall of Famer. So let's stop the madness about it. This is simply ridiculous. I like Brees, but I'm not ready to crown him yet.
There are many others MUCH MORE deserving of the HOF. Brees will get his chance to further make a statement....but not yet, not now.

It's not like we're talking about Marko Mitchell going in.
Well... maybe not on the first "go-round"...

Cuz there are many others retired from playing....still waiting to get IN. Ask Russ Grimm how he might have felt all those years, waiting for his turn...............while pundits hypothesize.

Good point. Don't want to mix HOF contenders like Brees or Colt with guys trying to crack the roster like Marko. No offense to Marko.
Hail to the Redskins!

Drew Brees is a lock for the Hall of fame.
He is the one and only QB to ever win a Super Bowl for New Orleans.
From now on whenever you think of the Saints the first image that comes to mind will be Drew Brees and Sean Payton.
He will go in even if he retired today. He already has a great resume.

Agreed, I think Drew will get in there. He's playing great and he's very consistent with it. He seems to be very focused and he's obviously a great leader. I'm not sure if he'll get another SB but that's only because of the competition out there, not him IMO.

While I think Brees is certainly on a HoF track, this isn't a very good reason to support him. After all, Trent Dilfer is the "one and only QB to ever win a Super Bowl" for the Ravens...

The difference is, Brees' play was the primary reason NO won... while Dilfer's role was to "not lose".

Well, not losing it for the Ravens was a major task for Dilfer to undertake. He should have been MVP of the game for accomplishing that.

If they SHOULD be in, then we'll talk about them. How about that idea! Who gives a rats ass how retired players feel about current players...in fact, I really doubt they care.
Miss you 21

That's exactly my point, CT. Not sure if I was a bit too obtuse there. The way HERO wrote it, he makes it seem as if winning a SB for a moribund franchise is a huge accomplishment. However, winning a Superbowl doesn't mean much in a vacuum; a QB can either drive that win (see Brees), or be along for the ride (see Dilfer).
