Saints Win!

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Saints Win!

Post by Countertrey »

That was, I think, the gutsiest Super Bowl performance I have ever seen. Excellent game.

I'm thrilled for the team, their fans, and for the City of New Orleans.

or what you said....

they will ALWAYS remember how you made them feel.

One of the cleanest, most well-played SB's I've seen -- a minimum of penalties and only the one TO. Congratulations to the Saints, the city of Nawlins, and most especially to their owner Tom Benson. A good dude who deserves this as much as anyone.

Congrats to the Saints. The city and team deserve it. I'm happy for Drew Brees. A great coaching job by Payton, one of the best I've ever seen.

I can agree with all of that. Both teams were performing at a high level, and the Saints held themselves together much better under the pressure.

I know several Saints fans who would completely disagree with this. He is hated by a good number of Saints fans.

correct me if I'm wrong, but Tom Benson wanted to move the team after Katrina.
Bruce has the authority. When Bruce makes the decision, it's a Redskins decision.

And I think if it wasn't for Paul Tagliabue he would've gotten his wish. I could see why Saints fans wouldn't like him but other fans and players would see him as a cool guy.

Really. I was unaware of this, Irn - perhaps like another poster said he's one of those guys fans of other teams see as benevolent, I dunno. Thanks for the info brother. :)

I am so happy the Saints won and grateful that the game was well played on both sides. I am also happy that there is yet one more team that has won a Super Bowl while the Eagles have not.

I think it was all of the passing and precision offense that got to me. Sure, it was a clean and well-executed game. But it just didn't feel very much like football to me.

Maybe part of the problem is that I watched the Six Nation's match between England and Wales the day before. Amazing to see a sport that isn't interrupted every 2 minutes by commercials, has real flow to the game, and isn't dictated by a series of 8-yard hook routes. :|

It was kind of ugly. There were a lot of drops. No big plays. It was competitive but it wasn't that fun to watch.

And the commercials were nothing special either.

I think another part of the problem might have been the absence of the B&G. I know a big part of my general ambivalence towards any SB's the 'Skins aren't repping stems from that fact -
