To ensure equality of opportunity, the NFL needs a rule that a white corner should be interviewed for every open position before it's filled with a black corner.

I have a black friend who tells me all the time he never wants to see the Redskins with a black quarterback. His claim is that black guys are just not "clutch" in pressure situations. Ehh whatever, I don't get too involved with racial conversations, but it was interesting to hear him say that.

Most people who make it to the NFL are long shots. They basically earned it with a dream, hard work, dedication, perserverance and a little luck.

I think it is more of a loss of interest. One of the best receivers I ever had to cover as a defensive player was a caucasion. The best baseball player I ever played with was a caucasion. He had a batting average of .666 while mine was .370.

Less and less caucasions are interested in Sports. Look at BasketBall how many caucasions you see still playing now?
I bet many caucasion parents tell there children to go to school get there education and become a doctor, lawyer, banker, stock broker what have you. Not a bad thing but a major reason why you have less white athletes in Sports IMHO. Just the way American Culture is shaping up to be. The whites encourage there kids to do something other then sports more often then not.

In Russia, Germany, Sweden or any other mostly caucasion country you have plenty of dominant white athletes. I am not white I am just making some points.

Take a look at Soccer. In the World there are many dominating players of all races. Black, White and Latins. Even some Asians.
How about Hockey, Golf, or the UFC? I am sure if you polled teens across the United States and asked them what they aspire to be? You would get the answer to these questions.

It has nothing to do with race. Any talented person can take that talent and turn into something special.
I just think less and less white guys aspire to be sports stars.

In general African Americans are better athletes in the sense that they are born with more natural athletic ability, it's just a fact.

Uh its not that big of a secret that black dudes, on average, are more agile and faster than white guys. Two things a cornerback must have to be successful. Why don't we see more white running backs? See above. I am not saying white dudes aren't good athletes as there are plenty of them, but there is a reason why there are more black dudes on the football field. Overall, they are better athletes.

You're both right and wrong. Yes, Africans and people of African descent are better sprinters - scientific evidence confirms they have more fast-twitch fibers in their muscles, making them quicker. That's why most 'speed' positions on the football field (WR, RB, CB) are usually filled by blacks, and ALL the top sprinters are black. However, you're wrong by saying blacks are better ATHLETES. In some sports, yes, but in all sports? No. How many black Tour de France champions have their been? Not every sport requires sprinting.

I was citing the Tour only as an example - there are plenty of others, such as swimming, gymnastics, etc. Not all of that can be explained by socio-economic/cultural barriers.

Could it be that black people aren't interested in those kinds of sports? Football only needs a ball and some friends to play. Basketball needs a ball and a hoop of some sort . Both sports are usually provided by the school that they attend. All you need for track is shoes.

Yeah, there are good white athletes, but there are more good black athletes especially when you consider the population ratio. It is what it is. Samoans are better athletes than just about everyone (according to the 60 minute report).
