Which Former skin do you wish still was here?

Stephen Davis for me, but then again I never really got to see my man Sam Huff play (rather unfortunately). I love what the guy stands for, though; and I bet that his leadership and spirit would fit well with Gibbs.

But since I'm young, I'll go with Davis. (Thank you very much, SS)

I second the Butz nomination. and Darryl Grant playing next to him!!! There's not another former Skin who could come in a provide the run-stuffin' we need in the middle as much as Butz, IMO.

I dont understand the question - is it bring back any great player from the past (how could you not pick D. Green?) or bring back a current player that we once had? I think bring back a current player that we once had would be a more interesting question. Champ is obviously one of the best we have let go as is Stephen Davis, but we have quality people at these positions now so maybe it wouldnt be a huge upgrade if they were somehow to come back. I think I would go with Kenard Lang. He is an average DE but average is an improvement over what we have now. He had 8 sacks last year on a bad team.

Tunover has been so rampant with the Skins the last several years that you could almost field a team of current NFL players with exSkins. You would actually have some really good players too - Brad Johnson, Trent Green, Rich Gannon, Stephen Davis, Champ Bailey, Kenard Lang, Kalu, Stephen Alexander, Ron Gardner, Shawn Barber. Those are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

Since our teams most needed position is Defensive End. I gotta pick Dexter Manley. That guy cracked me up when he would say things like, "I'M GONNA RING HIS CLOCK!!!" or "MIKE DITKA IS A BUMB!!!"

If we needed a running back I would have to pick "Big Diesel" or a quarterback I would have to pick Doug Williams. But we need a defensive end more than anything else so I gotta pick Dexter.

I'd take Coy Bacon in his prime over Dexter though.

Still active Skins I'd take Cory Ramer......Oh we signed him.

Then I'd take Thrash .... Oh we signed him too.

Luckily Alexander signed with the Lions !!!

This would be easier if we were talking about the DC basketball team vis-a-vee the Detroit Wizards

#2 Stephen Davis(snubbed by all as a 70 greatest redskin)

I admit that I would have to put Sonny Jurgenson as number two. Unfortunately I never got to see him play. I've heard so many stories that he must have been something.

Please don't get me wrong when I say this because I am thrilled that we have Portis....but....I still wish we had a bigger back for 3rd and short situations.
I'm sure it happened many times, but off the top of my head, I can't recall Riggins being stopped when it was 3rd and one. With Gibbs's offense, we need to keep the drives going.
I think Portis is going to do spectacular things, and I think he will keep the chains moving, however, I'm not convinced that his body can handle the pounding short situations call for.
I would feel more comfortable with a bigger back for these situations, so I'd rather have Riggins back.

I look at this as a 2 sided question.

1) The player I would want the most, no matter what.

2) The player who could help us the most.

1 would be, drum roll, John Riggins. Like you didn't know that was comming.

2 would have to be Dave Butz. He would make our D-line great, and free up the LB's.

But...Cartwright and Betts are there too, why risk injury to your stud when you got a couple work horses on the sideline just waiting to get a shot in the game...when other backs come in to play they will play hard and make the most out of the opportunity.

If it were up to my dad he would say "Slingin' Sammy Baugh - Jurgenson was the only QB they've had that could carry his jockstrap. The rest of those QBs are bums - bums I tell ya, Bums!" Thats just my dad though.

True, but can Portis keep it up for 3 or 4 years? I'm more worried about the abuse he's going to take. I'd love to see Cartwright or Betts take that role. When you have a sleek racehorse, you don't send him out to plow. What would work is a mini-hog.

i'm very surprised that no one has mentioned brian mitchell. so, my vote is for.....brian mitchell.

i love watching old tapes where he would get up after EVERY return and find someone to talk trash to. every single time. even if he got his head knocked off. he was a leader, a guy that fired up the whole team. to me, he was a big part of that attitude that joe gibbs initiated, that attitude that said 'lose?!? what, are you nuts?!?'

we need a guy like that now, a guy who strikes fear into his teammates as well as the opponent.
