Redskins.com: World Bowl XII: Berlin vs. Frankfurt

Post by Jake »

The Redskins have one representative in World Bowl XII: offensive lineman Ben Nowland for the Frankfurt Galaxy. Nowland played in nine games for the top-ranked rushing offense in NFLEL.

I can't watch all the leagues. I try to get my work all caught up so as to have Sunday afternoons in the fall and winter open to drink beer and watch NFL football. It's nice to know that one of the younger o-line guys is getting a taste of what it's like to win a big game or two...but I feel he'd better serve his NFL team if he were back home learning under Bugel.
Surely, there can be no comparision.
Not my call.

NFL Europe

Post by fleetus »

It's good to keep track of our practice squad guys who contribute in Europe. Hamdan got some action as a backup QB:

"Redskins quarterback Gibran Hamdan had a solid performance in limited action on Sunday as a member of the Amsterdam Admirals. In a 20-13 loss to the Rhein Fire, Hamdan entered the game in the third quarter and was 7-of-13 for 146 yards, one touchdown and a quarterback rating of 87.3."

Other players allocated to NFL Europe by the Redskins:

# Pita Elisara, offensive line: Rhein Fire
# Leonard Stephens, tight end: Frankfurt Galaxy
# Sean Dillard, wide receiver: Cologne Centurions
# Dwain Goynes, wide receiver: Rhein Fire
# Ben Nowland, center: Frankfurt Galaxy
# Cedric Killings, defensive tackle: Rhein Fire
Build through the draft!

I was watching the game on FOX, and with Frankfurt down by six and getting ready to force a punt with under two minutes to play, they switched over to baseball. I couldn't believe it, they showed the whole game except the end...
I'm bored, I'm broke, and I'm back.

BASEBALL?!?!?!?!?! :puke: i'd rather watch a random pee wee football game than even the world series. can't believe they did that. :hmm: well that was the 2 minute warning, we now take you to watching paint dry. Monkey
nfl network showed the replay, and it was all there.

I've got nothing against baseball, I just couldn't get over the fact that they didn't show the end of a close game. It's taped too, it's not like they couldn't make the game fit into the time slot...

it was a tight game. a little sloppy, but it went down to the wire. you're right, fox could have done better with a recorded game.

ps. i've got nothing against watching paint dry either

They played the end of the game on FX. By the end of the game I mean the one pass and two knees, plus the short little ceremony and a couple of interviews.

Who is Ben Nowland ... and where did he come from????

We didn't release Pita bread yet???

Leonard can stay in Europe and take up skiing.

The rest of these guys can get lost at euro-disney because they ain't making the team.

That McCoo is a nice versatile back and Philly has no place for him. We don't either, but he and the QB from NE look like they can play with the big boys...
