Yes, we are going to crate train her immediately. We have one of those crates that are adjustable as she gets bigger. Right behind our house is a big open clearing that has tons of room for her to romp around and run all over the place. There's also a small pond that I can walk her around too. As for the rules, I already told the wife what mine are and she told me hers too. That went better than I thought as we both expected the same things with Sasha... oh, and as you can tell it is a female.

Again, thanks for the info bro and I'm getting real excited already.

:D

No problem. If your wife is anything like mine though, and by that I mean female, make sure she understands that crate training is binary. You do it or you don't do it. We actually crate trained our dog and he was fine with the crate and my wife kept looking for excuses to not put him in until it was hopeless and we gave up.

So she's about 12 weeks old now, got her at 10 weeks old. So far so good, she wee'd on the floor a couple x's and twice in her lil bed, crapped in the house only twice but I think we're on a better page now. She walks around and goes toward the door when she has to go so that helps. Still crate training her too, the wife and I are both strict with that. Only issues so far.. licking everything, while walking she tends to put everything in her mouth.. so basically dog stuff.. she's a sweet dog though and just like you all said she's extremely playful and loves being outside. Only major issue I don't like is the nipping she does when she plays.. we correct her by as how the trainer showed us and he'll be coming back this sunday to do some more work with us and her. Overall, wouldn't trade her for another.

Awesome Joe, I got a puppy about a month and a half ago also, she is about 14 weeks old now. She is half American Bulldog and half Pitbull (lots of energy.) I found that consistency is definately the biggest part in training a puppy, there is all kinds of tips and tricks on the web if you run into a problem. I've been teaching mine how to play fetch and she's getting really good at it already, use a lot of positive reinforcements and when she does something right make sure she knows it.

I don't leave her in the crate all day while I'm at work, so she still messes on the floor when I'm not home (about 10 hours per day); I won't expect her to hold it until she's full grown, and then accidents will still happen once in a while. She has her own puppy room that I've closed off so she can't get out and chew everything up. Puppies really love to chew, and that can get frustrating, Harley is growing out of that phase somewhat already; at least she's not chewing on people as much anymore.

I found out that they can be very stressful if you let them, but I try and get away from her when I become frustrated. It's not good to lose your temper, it just sets progress back. This was my first time raising a pup by myself so I am still learning too, but it can be very difficult and frustrating or very enjoyable depending on how you view it. The best part for me is reminding myself that I am her pack leader, and that she is learning from the examples I set for her. Recently she has really begun to show her smarts, and is catching on to everything I've been teaching her over the past few weeks; thats a pretty awesome payoff, and it is well worth the dedication.

Yea man, I wanted a Huskie reaaaal bad. I even had an '09 Huskie calendar and everything.. wife wanted a little dog, like a.. dag, I'm trying to remember.. ummm.. shoot, its gone now.. LOL.. we compromised and said a Lab because they don't shed much and we found out they're the best dogs for kids. We got a female cause they don't as big as the males. Heck, judging from the pics I posted she's getting big FAST. She's a Redskin to the heart.. I was watching the playoffs and she was with me whinin.. I figured it was because she didn't see any burgundy/gold uniforms out there.
