Are you kidding? Colt clearly has the most pure quarterbacking skills this organization has seen since Slinging Sammy himself. Colt is fast, athletic, smart. He has great reflexes and makes great reads. He has a cannon for an arm but can deliver the soft passes as well. And when all is covered he wisely throws the ball away or pulls it down and runs for a first down. He crushed the college opposition posting amazing stats and is ready to do the same in the NFL. Only with pro-receivers he should blow away his lofty college numbers.
All we need is a management and owner not too myopic and insecure to let him off the bench. I sure hope Allen and Shanahan are the guys who realize what a gift to this organization Colt is.

I heard a "Skins fan" at a bar on Saturday saying we should've put in Colt during the regular season. I looked at the guy and was going to say something but the bartendar who's also a Skin fan just looked at me and said don't waste my time.

Sounds like good advice. I guess it's an unavoidable trap of management. When you draft late round guys you like to talk about what a steal you got. Then some take that assessment too seriously.

Pretty much Vet.. I was gonna say. .and just like this too.. "dude, are you really a Skins fan or just cheer for them cause your here?".. based on that or if he had asked why I said that, I'd have responded "cause Colt's been on IR for quite a while now but if you just cheer for them I can see how you missed that but if your a fan...." and I would've just gave him a stupid look..
Colt is tall enough. Going to a small school and playing against other small schools is absolutely NOT a kiss of death. History shows more great QBs come from small schools with good records than huge programs with great records. Most of the latter have dominant players around them. These are not all examples of what I just said but ... Tom Brady was a late round pick. Romo played college football at Eastern Illinois University. Favre played at Southern Miss. Elway was 20-23 at Stanford and they never went to a bowl game. Kurt Warner played for Northern Iowa as a senior only. He was third string until then but was player of the year in his tiny conference in has last year. He went undrafted. The list goes on. Of course greats can have great careers at big schools but they absolutely do not have to and their college performances can be very misleading in light of the players around them. Campbell is a perfect example of a QB having his deficiencies masked by the talent around him.
This is not to say Colt is the man but most of the arguments I've heard against him so far are mostly baseless. Someone said he'll be evaluated like everyone else. That's all we can hope for. Here is a scouting report:

Strengths: As accurate as they come…reads defenses and processes information quickly…quick release…leadership skills…fearless tenacity…worked out of high powered offense…still has room to get stronger…has not maxed out on his potential…has upside if an NFL franchise is willing to put in the time….
Weaknesses: Leading up to the draft Brennan’s arm strength will be a issue of contention…delivery tends to be inconsistent and not ideal…system quarterback stigma circulates prospect…injuries plagued senior campaign…does not possess ideal mobility…frame has much to be desired…
Overall: Colt Brennan will be one of the more intriguing prospects as the 2008 NFL Draft nears. Working out of June Jones’ run and gun style offense where he was asked to throw 60 times per game Brennan set many NCAA records. He will have to fight the ‘system quarterback’ stigma that has hindered several other prospects in the past. Whatever team does select Colt Brennan will have to focus on immediately getting him stronger and refining his delivery to max out his potential moving forward to the next level. His stature limits his draft status to a certain extent, projecting him to the next level—he seems best suited for a later round draft pick
From what I've seen he is a leader, he's mobile, he can make all the throws, and he has a bit of the "it" that Campbell never really showed.
