Mora out in Seattle

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Mora out in Seattle

Seahawks fire Jim Mora
Posted by Michael David Smith on January 8, 2010 1:29 PM ET
And then there were two coaching vacancies.

The Seattle Seahawks have fired head coach Jim Mora, Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com is reporting.

Mora's Seahawks went 5-11 in 2009, his only year as head coach. He previously went 27-23, including 1-1 in the playoffs, in three seasons as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

According to Glazer, Seattle has already called other teams to ask for permission to interview assistant coaches. Glazer names Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier as an early candidate.

The Seahawks now join the Buffalo Bills as the only NFL teams without a head coach.

Wow. That's crazy. I wonder if he would be in the mix here as an assistant. I can't remember what type of offense he runs but he has been around the game for a long time - grew up with his Dad as a coach. But not sure how it would work with MS.

While I don't enjoy other people's sufferings, there's a little justice in Mora's flop in Seattle. He was such an arrogant little bastard in Atlanta, and then the way he talked openly about leaving to coach college showed no class.

That's the word on the street. But...not many college coaches do well in the NFL. Pete knows that all too well.

Why would ANY NFL team want to hire a Head coach who has TWICE proven that he's better suited for the college game?

Carroll ain't no fool. The money's good, but, what can the Seahawks be thinking?

Allen should call DS and ask about firing a coach after 1 year for the sexy college coach.

What a joke. USC throws their corrupt basketball program under the bus to save their corrupt championship-caliber football program... And Pete Carroll hits the EJECT button.
Cowboys 7- Redskins 6 (All we needed was 2 minutes of the 60)
Cowboys 17 - Redskins 0 (Way to NOT show up for the 100th anniversary)
