Glass half full

Post by ScottWV »

Call me an optimist ...

Last season the Cincinnati Bengals finished 4-11-1. One of their four wins was against our beloved Redskins.

This season the Bengals win their division and will host a Wild Card game next weekend.

Things can be turned around quickly in this league.

Keep on smiling gang. :D

This season has completely destroyed my optimism. This is worst I've ever seen this team.

Thankfuly though my Kentucky Wildcats are undefeated!! It helps ease my pain.

wow, you must have missed Norv's first year. Or the year he started 7-1 and still missed the playoffs.

Let's hope we are more like that than like the Raiders, Rams and Lions

LOL..No I remember but this year it really feels like a new low for me, that team wasn't competetive all season except a couple games.

Did all the teams drafting ahead of the Redskins beat us this season? We only beat the Rams, in a game the Redskins should have lost.

OK then: Optimist !

But that is not all. There are naive optimists and informed optimists.

So far, other than

1) the firing/resignation of Vinny;

2) the hiring of Bruce Allen and

3) the expected firing of Zorn, and

4) the expected hiring announcement of Shanahan later today,

we have no information which may allow us to conclude that Daniel Snyder is NO LONGER involved on the football side of the operations. And THAT is the key to have any foundation for informed optimism.

They could bring the best coaching staff and management but if Daniel Snyder can still overrule them, there is no reason for optimism at all.
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Snyder signs the checks and he's not relinquishing that so of course he will always have the final say, I think he's choosing to defer to
Bruce Allen but at the end of the day the buck stops with Snyder

I'd have to disagree; I think we were worse in Spurrier's second season. This season, we were competitive in most games; kept the score close, usually because of good defensive play.

I think Redskins fans are always optimistic even when we should know better. Its like we're all suffering from some form of battered wife syndrome or something.
