Did you explain to him that the team colors are not "red and black" or "red and yellow".

The Redskins' team colors are burgundy and gold - there is NO yellow associated with this franchise
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Very good. I've got a lesson here in 3 hours. I shoot in the low 90's mostly and hit the high 80's on good days.

Well let's just wait and see.

Oh yeah. The first move the general public does not agree with, he's going to be crucified. Tough town to play in and even tougher fan base.

No... an intelligent fan base... and FED UP. Once competence is re-established, the fan base will resume it's rabid support... through good and bad. Shanahan will have plenty of fan support...

Fans will continue to have a low tolerance for Snyder's shenanigans, however...

I just hope he pulls out his list of defensive coaches from his last decade with the Broncos and puts them on a "do not call list!". If he brings any of his former defensive coaches with him, he WILL FAIL as a HC.

Besides for the next year or two he will just be the team president and let Jerry Gray be the HC  That way he can collect his $14M from Pat Bowen AND some serious cash from the Danny. Build a good team; kick Jerry to the curb, and take over as the head coach of a team he built.

Is this a joke?

Every NFL insider is hot on the story and you get the scoop? And talk Redskins with Mikey Slick for four hours?

Do tell . . . What's his plan - or did he just listen to you and takes notes the entire time?

Its a fair point, but what will our "intelligent fan base" deem is competence? What if we're 8-8 next year or 7-9 under Shanahan? I think a guy like Shanahan can definitely help our team, but we still have some issues with players that aren't going to fix themselves in just one season.

I think if we seem to have a good draft and we don't spend $140 million on any one player this spring, it should be a good sign for fans.

btw Happy New Year to all the skins fans here. I'm getting off this computer....

I don't understand how a person can have as much money as Snyder, that is like some new world order type dough he shells out.

Lets see.....

You spend 4 hrs with the man to be named the next HC, you say you both talked Redskins football..... and all you can offer is he will be name HC early next week?

Dude not to burst your bubble but too many other people have already said come Mon. Shanahan will be named, ie; Schefter, who is supposed to be good friends with Shanahan and talks all the time to him.

What about all the rumors... there will be a clearing out this season? K.Shanahan will join? What about Alex Gibs? I mean rumor has it he's been setting up his coaching staff with Slowick. How about Zimmer?

I'm about to call BS. I gave more info then you did.

I could care less if its bs for you and others, also I had a chance to meet his wife at the new years party, I also met cindy crawford, leo dicaprio, molly sims and joe buck which I saw him earlier today at the lobby of the hotel, he was going to dallas for tomorrows game.

MS will arrive in DC tomorrow or monday and I will bet you "vriel1" 10,000 that between Monday and Wedneaday MS will be named the new Redskins head coach, If you want to raise the bet thats fine with me.

Yeah and I just had dinner with Penelope Cruz and saw Tom Cruise in the parking lot as we left; while me and Tom chatted Britney Spears drove by and flashed us, afterwards we all went to Gary Busey's house and watched the Buddy Holly Story afterwhich Eddie Murphy came by and we all made brownies.

Um, no you don't have to bet me cause my wager would be that Zorn loses his job Sun night upon return and Shanahan is named Mon. morning. Just like Allen was named. So am I supposed to say "Oh your full of crap and he won't be named until Fri.? Not going to happen. He'll be named Mon. Both you and I already know this and almost every other news media has reported the same thing.

Not calling you a liar so much as saying that your not offering up any new info for your 4 hours worth of golf. Perhaps you would like to enlighten us as to any "new" info? I'll give you what we pretty much know already...

M.Shanahan will be the next HC/President.
K.Shanahan will most likely be named OC.
Slowick will be coming with Shanahan.
M.Shanahan has been looking into the 3-4/3-4 hybrid defense.
Zimmer might be brought on board from the Bengals.
Shanahan was very interested in T.O. while with Denver he tried to get him. T.O. is a FA after this year.

Care to enlighten us on if any of these are accurate. Care to add to the rumors since you talked to him personally? This is what I'm talking about. I have not talked with him and I'm providing more info then you.

I'm glad you got to meet him. Glad you got to rub elbows. Glad you got to spend New Years with the upper crust. Hope it was fun.

Let me show you what I mean....

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... tor-in-dc/

Here's another:

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that if Bills WR Terrell Owens leaves Buffalo, the Redskins may be a destination for Owens. If the Redskins hire Mike Shanahan, Shanahan lobbied for Terrell Owens with the Broncos and may look to recruit the wide receiver again for the Redskins. The Buffalo Bills signed Owens to a 1-year, $6.5 million contract this offseason but he is free to sign with another team once free agency begins this offseason

Here's another:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/3165 ... e-shanahan

And another:

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/sport ... 61387.html

Per Adam Schefter who's a good friend of Shanny, Shanny has turned down the Bills, Browns, and Dallas. Schefter says Shanny knows he would not have as much control in Dallas as he will in DC.
