FIRE ZORN TODAY

Post by tj123456 »

Bruce, please fire Zorn today.... Last night was a disgrace to this so-called proud organization.

I know what some of you will say: let him finish it out, what would be the point, give him another chance...

We'll since we all know he won't be here next year, whats the difference. Zorn comes out after the game and just shoots off a bunch of excuses and states he was "really surprised". Im not even gonna mention that stupid play a the end of the half.

OK, yes I am! Zorn, I'm glad that a trick special teams play worked earlier in the year, especially after we showed the formation prior to a time out. But you don't try that kind of thing again in the same season. C'mon MAN!!!

The announcers were laughing at us for god sakes... Please just let Blanche, Smith, Smith, or Gray take over for the last 2 games as an interim HC. Maybe we can go out and play some respectable football for the 8 quarters and get this season over with. Everyone keeps saying that we are a tradition rich franchise, yet we are gonna allow this pinhead to drag the Redskins name through the mud on his way out. FIRE THIS INCOMPETENT FOOL!!!

Please keep in mind that this is not a injuries, Snyder or Cerrato thread. It solely pertains to Jim Zorn's obvious incompetence and whether or not it should be displayed once again to a nationally televised audience.

Could be some contractual issues with firing him now. Not that I care after last nights performance. The fact that the announcers were laughing at us only reinforces how pathetic this team is.

Welcome Newbies. I don't mind if they fire Zorn. Just as long as they HONOR his contract and PAY him his full amount due.

But for the record, I am one of the FEW who wish Zorn the best in his future endeavors. He may have "bitten" more than he could chew as HC, but it did NOT help that 2 clowns were trying to run him out of town.......

This takes the cake as 2 middle fingers from Zorn to the ownership that cut his legs from under him.......

But seeing the glee in his postgame grin describing that failed play, hearing him actually say, "Oh, no, it was good defense. It was really good defense. That's what hurt that play," it gave me real pause.

"The play was unique enough to where I didn't think they saw what we were really trying to do and then they smelled it out pretty quickly, we didn't really have a chance," Zorn said, still believing and smiling.

And at 4-10, two weeks from Bruce Allen firing him, why not humor himself at the expense of the people who took all the fun out of his job and life the past two years?

Publicly emasculated with every move from above, no one in authority ever having his back, for two years Zorn was metaphorically Hunter Smith on Monday night -- all alone in the backfield, big, angry men with malice on their breath, bearing down.

But Unemployed Coach Walking deserves a last meal, doesn't he?

You know what some will say, but not what others will say. I totally agree Zorn is gone, but totally disagree we should do it before the end of the season. Here are the main reasons off the top of my head:

1) Snyder already embarrassed him enough with the Lewis fiasco, why pile on?

2) And continuing 1, why emphasize to the next coach how they will be treated if it doesn't work out?

3) Also, why saddle the next coach with two losses they have little control over to start their tenure?

4) Why cut short the hiring process?

5) Why elmininate candidates who are still committed to teams seasons?

6) And if you circumvent some of these by naming an "interim" coach, how does that help do anything but continue to emphasize we are in meaningless mode?

The fact is there is nothing but downside to not let Zorn just finish out the season and then fire him.

Kazoo is absolutely right. Firing Zorn now instead of in two weeks time would serve no useful purpose at all. And for the previous five weeks, the coaching staff had done a remarkable job of actually keeping the wheels on the wagon. The firing of Cerrato has changed the mindset though. I'd actually say that Monday's performance was inevitably going to happen at some point over the last three games of the season. It may now happen in all three of them, but firing Zorn now just wouldn't change it.

If these players aren't going to put it all on the line now for dead man walking, they aren't going to do it for an interim coach either.

I've figured out what Zorn can do after football....he can do commercials for Xanax. Seriously....If I had coached a team that played that apathetic my post-game interview would of made Denny Green's "we had them and let them of the hook" interview look like a disney movie. First the first time in years I was completely disgusted to be a Redskins fan. With the salary cap the NFL is designed for every team to go 8-8...teams have basically the same talent....the team that plays with more urgency and passion wins. Zorn's stay medium approach belongs in a hippie commune, not in a violent sport. Kick him to the curb!

I agree we should just wait until the season is over.

If we fire him now it may effect other coaches coming to Washington. We are only two weeks away.
This season was already shot anyways. Just be patient we have our new GM. Lets just wait and see. I am confident our front office will now make an informed descision based on a sound plan.

Instead of making descisions based on emotional reactions like Snyder has done in the past. Just let our GM make sound and informed descisions based on his experience and football know how.

This has been one of the most dissapointing seasons in recent memory. We can endure two more weeks.

Agreed, Haynesworth is the highest paid defender I believe. Tightwad? No way.

I actually commend Snyder for his willingness to spend. That is a major positive we have working in our favor.

well let's start with: lowering ticket costs, drinks, hot dogs, parking... etc...

Yup, tightwad is the same as screwing people for their money...IMO

Let me get this straight, you don't want to pay market prices. You want stuff, but you don't want to pay what it costs. You want it given or subsidized by someone else so you can pay less. And that Danny won't do that, that he insists on charging market prices for things that he sells makes HIM a tightwad, because you want him to give you stuff and he won't.

I'm so glad we cleared that up, I understand now.

Thats a fair argument.

It's a stupid argument. Ignoring the ludicrous and unsubstantiated assuption any of those things are "screwing people for their money," when someone steals your wallet are they a "tightwad?" Is insider trading being a "tightwad?" Tightwad means not wanting to spend your money, not charging a lot for things. The guy spends like a banchee and guess what, he charges for the product, "tightwad" is silly. The guy is a moron who undercuts his coach and seems to move from one ineffective strategy to another. There is plenty to criticize him for for what he IS. It's just pointless to criticize him for what he isn't.

Why? You don't think enough damage has been done to the organization this year? You were hoping to make it even harder to replace Zorn with a quality coach by making sure any candidate knows they will be subject to every indignity, even pointless, bitter ones like being fired with two games to go rather then when the season is over?
