Not too happy...

Post by is95a »

Let me first say that I've been on the wait list for a good long time and I wasn't expecting to get 50 yard line seats, but...
Got three seats in section 423 (corner), Row 28 (out of 29 rows!). I thought these were released on a first come first serve basis? I put my deposit down back in November, and I know a lot of people waited until early this year, yet it seems that everyone other new season ticket holder has better seats. I am seriosuly thinking of keeping my $2k and just go to a couple of games a year in good seats. If I keep them though, how long do you think it will take before I move closer to the 50? Thoughts?

That is the reality of fed ex field. If you are familiar with the seating chart at old RFK, our seats were in the 40 section in the end zone under the upper deck tucked nicely above the budweiser sign. Those seats were hands down the best seats in RFK, under cover great view and metal rafters to bang on. Fed Ex Was built and we recieved seats deemed "comparable". They were located in section 442 row 9 up stairs. Horrible seats, we just went downstairs this year.

I hear your frustration... I really do... I was also on the wait list for some time and just ended up in 405 (back endzone/ goaline) row 27... but I would never ever pass them up... I mean, I have been waiting for this moment all my life, like most people on the waiting list, so I think everyone lucky enough to come off should suck it up and be happy just to get them... upgrades are given out before each season, so I'm sure you, as well as I, will be able to move closer to the 50 each year.

I just got season tickets this year, and I got Sec. 431, which is between the 15 and 20 yard line. I'm TOTALLY happy with that. I've been waiting all my life for this, and I was not going to pass this opportunity up. FEDEX here I come!!!
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

is95a, that's what happens to almost everyone getting tickets. My mom was on the waiting list for 15 years and she got tickets that were the second to the highest row in the whole stadium. But, despite my fear of heights, I liked the view of the whole stadium. My mom and I could see everything.

is95a, I understand that you may have expected a little better seats for your hard earned $2k. But if I were you, I would be flipping out right now (the good kind). Season tickets at FedEx (no matter where the seats are) would be the ultimate for me. Heck, it's one of my dreams to just get to attend one game at FedEx. I live in Kentucky and the only time I get to even watch the Skins on TV is when they are playing the Pukes. I can't even imagine what it must be like to have a seat at FedEx Field reserved just for me! Man, just enjoy this upcoming season and worry about upgrading your seats next year. I just hope you wake up one morning and realize just how lucky you really are.

I might have two preseaon games tickets for sale if anyone wants to go see Steven Davis and Michael Vick get killed. They are great seats!! Section 120 row 1.That is right behind the bench on the 37 yard line. With those two games you are will get that expensive tailgate pass to eat all you want and you better at the price Danny is charging. The price I paid for them is $79 per ticket and 42 for the tail gate party so each game is $240.Let me know so I dont want to see any other people who are not redkins fans to get them on ebay.Go skins

IS95A As the resident Cowpuke fan I want to give you my two centss. If you love this team, then take what you can get for now, and work your way to better seats. From what I have heard from others you have kinda get the crappy seats first then the better ones will come in time. But any ways good luck.

They priortize by who has had season tickets for longer. I would say you have a long time to wait until you get good seats. There have been people who have seats like you who have been waiting years for the oppurtunity to move to better seats. It can be frustrating but it is a fair system. My family has had season tickets for over 30 years so we shouuld obvoiusly have the choice wether or not we want the seats before new season ticket holders. It's the right way to do it.

You're lucky to be IN the stadium. There are a lot of people out there that would love to have your seats.

for a couple extra dollars.... or some times at right around cost.... you can buy season tickets on E-bay.... and you can choose were you want to sit.... and you don't have to commit to anything... ;) and we need more skins fans to buy off e-bay so the enemy doesn't buy them.... i'd say save your money... my dad and i bought season tickets two years ago in the nose bleed(400) section and though i always loved to go to the games the seats flat out sucked...not worth 2k...i'd say just go to the games you want to see and buy tickets in the parking lot...you'll get MUCH better seats for your money that way...hell, you can't really do any worse. My 2 cents

The overall gameday experience at FedEx is pretty horrible. From the terrible traffic, to the expensive parking prices, to the unbearable prices. It is just plain better to watch the games at home. FedEx is like a big country club, as opposed to RFK which actually provided a home field advantage. $2,000 is a lot of money to spend for little in return. I konw a bunch of people that waited over 15 years to get tickets, finally got them, and declined after ONE year to renew them.

Once again, I am not complaining, but I am a little worried about the view from 405, row 27. Is it really that bad? The highest I've ever sat in the Upper Deck is row 15 and it wasn't too terrible. I just hope to be able to move down at least 5 rows after each season over the next few years.

IMO nose bleed seats can turn into an obligation and mot the thrill that it should be to go to a game. like i said, you can always pick up seats in the parking lot...and you CAN'T do any worse...to me it's not worth 2k.

The problem is folks, with Gibbs back it will be much more difficult to get tickets. I love the game day experience, it's all what you make of it - hanging with friends/fellow fans in the parking lot on a sunny autumn day, re-creating the magic of RFK now that Gibbs is back with hope for the future, and kicking back enjoying the game - there's nothing like it. BTW - I'm not denying that RFK was the best stadium on the planet but we're not going back there so it's time for fans with tickets to step up and make the RFK magic happen at FedEx. My 2 cents...

Pretty mcuh your decsion to keep your season tickets should be long term. If you just want then for a little while dont even bother. But if you want season tickets in your family gfor a long time, its worth the investment. Overtime you will gradually get better seats, so it's pretty much the choice between suffering in some terrible seats for a while and having the oppurtunity to move up and have these tickets be in your family, or if you dont care about long term then your probaly better off buying them on E-bay.

I'm at whatever-yard line the ball is at, with my boys (and one of my daughters) and a nice cold beer for the price of NFL Sunday Ticket on Direct TV.
Now, as a Yankee fan, I know nothing beats goin' to the Stadium (and I do go, regularly) and seeing the boys of summer go park live but...
No one is less the fan for not being able to go to the games. It's enough to root 'em on.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback! After careful thought and after visitng FedEx Field (like another poster here), I have decided to get them! The seats are up there, but they do give you an excellent view of the field, allowing you to see each play developing. I also purchased parking ($250 ouch!) in the Blue Lot (Jericho). Anyone else there? They said there is a waiting list for the other lots, and that people have not moved up in 5 years! Anyways, again thanks for all the input, and Hail to the Redskins!

Again, another thing E-Bay can solve for you.... you can buy green and orange parking passes on there all the time.... and very easily can sell your blue ones.... good solution, while your waiting those 5 years to upgrade that is ;)
