This thread is for fans to talk about (hopefully) the next QB of the Washington Redskins Slingin Sam Bradford.

Our Skins are 3-7 and while I hope we win out we probably wont. So looking heading to the draft in 2010 there is only one guy I want.

Sam Bradford to me is still the best QB in this class even with his repeated shoulder injury that has knocked him out for the most of this college season.

I think the injury might actually help us b/c he could slip just enough in April that we can select him with our 1st round pick.

I know the Skins Offensive Line is terrible. I think that a franchise QB is too good to pass up though. With our 2nd round pick we can still pickup a lineman.

So this thread is to discuss, debate, and pledge your allegiance to the next great QB in the NFL Slingin Sam Bradford.

2. If you know our offensive line is terrible, then why draft a quarterback? Even "franchise" quarterbacks aren't immune to getting pummeled because of a lack of depth on the offensive line. We need offensive line depth immediately. Drafting the "sexy" pick, whether it be a QB, WR or RB would continue to fall in line with the problem of this team's drafting methods and gives the wrong message yet again and will show that Snyder still does not know what he is doing.

I understand where you are coming from. If we drafted a OT in round 1 I wouldnt be upset at all. Offensive Line is our biggest weakness.

I have always felt that if you have the chance to draft a franchise QB you cant pass it up. I think we can find some upgrades in FA and with our 2nd round pick that can rebuild our offensive line.

I feel that Bradford has the leadership skills and accurate arm that are the keys to being a franchise QB in the NFL. While a offensive lineman would be nice in round 1 I dont think its the best way to go. IMO a possible franchise QB in rd 1 and a offensive lineman in rd 2 helps more in the longrun than the other way around.

I think Bradford and Locker are the 2 QBs in this class that have franchise QB potenial. If we drafted either of them or a OT like Okung id be happy.

I just really believe Bradford is the next Peyton Manning. I could be wrong but I am really high on this guy.

Bradford is frail. McCoy doesnt have the NFL arm, Tebow is a more likely option and man would I be pissed even then.

At this point I am all for trading away a few players (don't care who) to get a proven young QB. Not only am I more for it but with this teams management phylosophy I've excepted that we will do something stupid in the offseason so I am preparing myself.

I am normally a proponent of drafting lines. However, if the value at O-line isn't there in the 1st round (and apparently, this isn't a great draft for offensive linemen), but it is for a QB, it's silly to ignore the QB and reach for a lineman. We have gaping holes at both line and QB, after all.

For example, if Okung is gone at our pick, but Bradford is there...does it make a lot of sense to draft a OT at that pick, even if that OT is rated a 2nd round pick? Not really, right?

I'd actually argue that reaching for the OT in that situation, over drafting the QB, is the stupid move.

I dont think he is as frail as people think. He suffered a shoulder injury in his first game of the season vs BYU. He cameback 3 weeks later and after tearing up Baylor re-injured his shoulder the following week vs Texas.

Its one injury that he probably cameback to early from. I dont think a QB who suffered one injury is a frail QB.

If he had different injuries to different body parts id agree.

I rather take the boring route and dedicate most draft resources to offensive line depth.

I like Claussen personally, but after watching him tonight I don't think he is mobile enough to play behind our line. I'm not sure any qb other than maybe Vince Young or Mike Vick is mobile enough to play behind our line. I also don't really know what Locker will do at the NFL level. He certainly has the upside though.

I'd still prefer to go OT but who knows how things will pan out, and the Skins will go best player available no matter what, unless they REALLY don't need people at a certain position.

It's not about the "sexy picks." It's about getting the best value and filling a position of need. This draft is going to be thin on offensive line talent and VERY deep at qb. Potentially we are looking at a draft class of Bradford, McCoy, Robinson, Tebow, Snead, Pike, LeFevour, Claussen, and Locker. There is a tremendous amount of talent at the qb position in this draft and it would be stupid to not take a qb in the first or second round when so much talent could be available and a position of need.

I say no to Bradford. If any Qb is picked I take Clausen.
Other then that a very good LT. If the value is not there? Then I say trade down for two 2nd round picks.

Please, no quarterback!! I know we all have our own beliefs on what the Skins should do, and my belief is that we need a running back and O-Line help.

I personally dont like any of the QB this year..next year there are going to be some realy good ones. This year, we need either the best OL moving up in the draft or he best RB or DB..

All the games I saw him in he was banged up. I don't think he could last in the NFC East.

I'd rather keep Jason and give him an O line, then if it doesn't work out, get a QB. Lets not forget about Brennan though.

Okung wouldn't be a flashy pick but he is the best OT in the draft and has the makings of a franchise LT.

I totally agree with you, especially if we have Shanny at the helm. The QB class is good, and the lineman class seems pretty lousy, getting a QB in the first round (with the 5th, 6th or 7th pick) makes a lot of sense. Shanahan is one of the few guys in football who actually knows how to develop a young QB. I'd trust him completely to draft a quarterback. The same quality linemen available in the 1st round are going to be available early in the second. Also, I think with a CBA free agency looks good, without one, the trade market looks good. Allen has a lot of work to do on rebuilding that broken line... even if Thomas and/or Samuels come back

The best LT in the draft won't last to 6 which is where we're at if the season ended today.
