Ndamukong Suh and Albert Haynesworth in the middle. Carter and Daniels at the ends. Orakpo, Fletcher, Macintosh at the LB. Landry, Horton, Hall, maybe rogers or another CB like smoot, barnes, tyron. Imagine that defense.

Then remeaining pics draft nothing but OL for depth we should be able to find a couple of hidden jems. Suh and Haynesworth lined up next to each other :hail:

Seriously? With all of our problems on offense you want us to draft a defensive lineman in the first round? :thump:

I understand the problems on offense but or OL with backups looked better then the starters were this season. The team is getting chemistry which helps the situation. The receivers are stepping up. I would'nt give up on portis yet he needs a line to work with. If we focus on OL on the other picks we should be good. We dont know about Randy or Samuels. I think we can find hidden jems. I think suh would be amazing as a redskin

Your right, it would be a great defensive line. However, we need a COMPLETE team, not just a great defensive line. At the very least, we need upgrades at 3 spots on the offensive line, qb, rb, and possibly wr. Our secondary also hasn't been that great and we need a SAM linebacker. All of those are more pressing needs than defensive line.

While we're at it, let's get Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson, and Andre Johnson at WRs. That could be a great set of wideouts.

Oh and add Peyton Manning and Tom Brady at QB. Whoever loses the training camp battle can be backup QB.

I'm just saying it would be a great passing attack...

AP is without a doubt, the best RB in the game right now, possibly top 10 ever. Chris Johnson is 2nd fiddle.

...if we had that defense, we would still need a Linebacker and a Corner and a Free Safety... at some point you have to go with wht you've got on that side of the ball, quit trying to make it perfect, and start the youth movement on the O-line...

You dont have to have a first round pick next to Haynesworth. You could draft a very large Defensive tackle in the latter rounds and he would be very effective next to Haynesworth. That is why having Haynesworth is great.
Just look at the production Carter has had this year and Orakpo. Even Cornelius Griffin has a few sacks.

Pass on drafting a DT with the first pick. We need to either draft the surefire left tackle or trade down and pick up more picks.

I agree with passing on a DT in the first, but you have to admit, the Willams wall with Jared Allen is a beautiful thing...

Most definatley. After watching the Nebraska game Suh looks mighty good. I wont complain if we draft him and he turns out to be a stud.

If we draft a DT and do not end up with 3 or 4 incredibly good offensive linemen, the person responsible should be fired as an incompetent

I just love this DT and I think he's the best player to come out BUT somebody already made sure we had the best DT playing for us - we need to get a lot better at a lot of positions and a future HOF defensive lineman is not going to help in the next few years
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Agreed. He was unstoppable in that Big 12 Championship Game. UT had no answer for him. Too bad we have many more pressing holes to fill.

If he's there for some reason, and Okung isn't, I would take him. I really like him, Berry, and McClain, and the latter two we don't necessarily need, although Landry is a turd.

we have a lot of players that are not playing well but mainly because they are not being coached very well - Landry is a very talented player that needs better and stricter supervision - this guy could be the leader on this defense in the coming years if he had better coaching and was playing the position he's best suited to.

The importance of a really good Strong Safety is as easy as looking at the effect that not having Troy playing is having on the Steelers :) Landry has the ability and the talent to be a really good SS - he just needs better coaching and discipline

I am not making excuses for the way Landry is presently playing (or behaving) - I just think that part of that is because he's not being coached or instructed properly - the on field behaviour will improve with stricter control by the coaches - you either behave in accordance with how the HC and position coaches want you to behave or you are benched

this whole franchise should take a look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are really making their best effort to help the others around them do their jobs better
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
