That made me laugh but I can picture several board members -chin in hand staring off- wondering if it actually was his fault.

Agreed. I been watching this coming for most of the fall. This is the reason that I we are not as far away as a lot of folks think, in terms of the offensive line.
I believe that with more time, he could also regain traction as a RT, as well... either way, that's one less body that we need to replace on the OL.

I am no longer a JC supporter. Once again, in the face of adversity, trying to put hte game away, he chokes. One INT and it's on the potential game winning drive, just like he always does. Good QBs FINISH games, bad QBs choke trying.
Suisham is GONE. You don't miss chip shots like that. AMF.
If anyone has the home address of the Umpire (or whomever goes under the hood) PM me. We need to have a talk. Kareem Moore was down by contact. Sellers elbow was down before the ball wiggled. Remember the joke of what is black, white, and red all over? It used to be a zebra in a blender, now it SHOULD be a Redskins official.
This loss was on point with the Hochuli (sp) instance of a few years ago. I'll gladly take one for the Redskins community if it means that we doin't play 12 vs 11.
P.S. Davis and Thomas are on point. Cheers to many years (hopefully) with these guys in burgundy and gold.

Shallow thinking does not become you, but I guess living in Philly can do that to a person.
I have been saying that this is his primary deficiency since last year. It is the reason that he is unable to function when the game has come down to a few plays. It is why he does not have the ability to bring a team back from the brink... as today.
The reason we lost the game was LL blowing coverage, Kareem not knowing how to protect the ball like a running back (and, why would he?), Swishy being swishiy, and any number of bounces and breaks that went, unfailingly, the Saints way.
Campbells deficiency DID NOT cost us the game... It DID cost us the ability to salvage it. Had the situation been reversed, and that was Brees in that situation, you can bet that he'd have been screaming NO HUDDLE the second the whistle blew.

No, the #1 ranked team in the NFL's colors are black and white.

The guidance the officials get from the league, regarding reversals, requires clear evidence in order to overturn... while you and I can agree that they made the wrong call... the original call gets the weight. The evidence wasn't there to reverse. Can't blame the officials.

Down by contact only applies once possession is established. Moore rolled off of Shockey before he secured the ball. Lousy, but that's the way the rules are written. As little as I liked the result, I think the officials made the right call.
OTOH, I thought the Sellers fumble was too close to overturn, but Sellers shouldn't have put the ball on the ground.

I blame Jason Campbell for the loss. He should have made the tackles, fumble recoveries, interceptions and field goal kicks in the game. It's all his fault.
On a serious note, JC should not have made that INT. That was a baited throw and before the play happened, I showed my Wife the soft spot in the field and he went right where the pressure was. End result, INT.
All of that is a moot point is Shawn made the FG kick.
Hell of an effort by the team. I didn't expect to win and VEgas lost their butts today. Good job by the team but would have loved to see us get a win. I think JC may have played well enough today to be back next year.

It's ok. I can.
It's hard for me to get very mad at anything, at this point. We know what we have on our team. They played a great game today. Coming up short doesn't negate that, in my view. This loss is just another manifestation of the kind of season we're having, IMO.
It's not like we're going anywhere at this point, but it still would have been nice to have beaten an undefeated team. If we had won these last three heartbreakers, we'd be right back in the mix.

Not going to call a conspiracy but the NFL preferred the NO win vs the Skins win.
Frank, how could you let us lose? When I left home we were up by 7. When I got to my gate at the airport I saw we lost in OT. What happened?
Wifi on the plane, BTW.

Agreed. Ship him OUTA HERE!BeeGee wrote:He didn't get much of a chance with us, but I can't recall any blunders from him. There's no excuse. If you can't make an extra-point-distance field goal to ice the game for your team, you should be kicking rocks, not footballs. Ocho Cinco makes that kick.Countertrey wrote:BeeGee wrote:He's been there, done that already. 3 games in '05 and 3 in '06Countertrey wrote:Swishy... Needs to kick for Dallas.

Yea, they play not to lose. They don't play to win. It's really cost them in the last three games

Oh trust me, I was mentioning it in the gameday thread. Just pathetic...playing for the FG and ZERO killer instinct. What made it worse, Peyton/Williams KNEW that's how those plays would be called. It is widely known around the league that the Skins have no killer instinct. Somebody please try to brighten my day and tell me the last time that the Skins actually put someone away...PLEASE!Redskinsfansince81 wrote:I notice no one has mentioned the play-calling before that Suisham missed field goal. 3 conservative runs in row. IMO he has no place being our FS going forward. He might be redeemable as a SS, but I'd bet that most likely what is best for the team at this point is to let him go. (At least, I think he's in a contract year.) Give me a hungry player trying to make it in the league over the guy who just wants to be on ESPN.
He, LL, is still playing with a Strong Safety mentality....while in the outfield.
That's why he jumps route all the time....

That offense, you've got to keep them off the field. I know what he was doing and based off the way the defense was playing, you kick the FG - put us up by 2 possessions and take the points. Its a no brainer. If you miss, which we did, you still hope that your defense could stop them. And once again, our defense can't close a game out to save their life.

I think that may have been Zorn's lame attempt to take over play calling.

Oh, I understand what they were doing, I just don't agree with it. NO BALLS! I'm not saying three pass attempts, but try at least ONE. Nothing creative at all about what they did. It's not like the Skins were getting the bounces. You have to take a chance at trying to win, not try to GET AWAY with a win. Typical mentallity of the Redskins as of late.frankcal20 wrote:Champsturf wrote:Oh trust me, I was mentioning it in the gameday thread. Just pathetic...playing for the FG and ZERO killer instinct. Taking the FG there is playing to win the game. Your goal is to put the game out of reach and should the kick have been made, it would've been. We missed it and that kicked our ass. But that's how our season has gone this year. Not a big deal. I'll take the better draft position and go after a stud LT.
