Comparison Question: Toby Gerhart and John Riggins

Anyone else watching Toby Gerhart the Stanford running back tonight vs Notre Dame?

He has over 200 yards tonight and has just ran down Notre Dames throat late in the game for his 3rd rushing TD to break a 38-38 tie. He also has a TD pass in this game.

Gerhart has been insane this year and is easily a Heisman Trophy canidate.

He looks like a John Riggins clone out there tonight running the football.

Does anyone else see the same things im seeing right now? Hes running over Notre Dame and I cant believe how much he looks like Riggins.

Yea he's a tank. That's a pretty inept defense but still, he's put up pretty good numbers and has good speed/agility for his size.

I think that he is the leading rusher in college football. I wouldn't say you can compare him with Riggins outside of that they are both white but I can tell you living in Pac 10 country, I've seen him play quite a bit. The kid is good. He's going to be a first round pick and depending on how his combine goes, he could be top 10.

I think a better comparison to Toby Gerhart would be Ron Dayne. Great college production, no pro potential. I haven't seen this much false Heisman hype since Gordy Lockbaum made it into the Top 3.
