I will say that it was encouraging to see the players playing with a lot of heart - we did not win the game but we could have - we are not close to being a team but we have recently showed up to play - we won last week and we are not close to being as good as the Broncos either

I like to see these guys busting to try and play - this team should not be able to win games but we came close today and we won a game last week we should not have - that is a good thing :D

we need a makeover but if these guys keep playing like this, some of these guys are going to be playing here next year and a few weeks ago there were not many that would be worth keeping in my opinion
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

While I feel that Swishy should have made the kicks, he was put into a position to fail.

Zorn in all his wisdom iced his own kicker and then continued to ice him for a measly 5 yard increase with 2 hours left on the clock b4 the half. Instead of having some gonads and attempting a TD! He puts his frigid QB out there. Not smart. Zorn ADMITS after the game that he's calling these plays.

Again, that's not excusing Swishy but he was put in a bad position.

With the 2nd missed FG, SOMEONE (might have been Zorn cus he admittedly called a rack of plays today) runs a DRAW OUT OF SHOTGUN! Dumb play. They line Swishy up OUTSIDE OF HIS RAGE AT 50 YARDS. He misses. Shock! ANd awe!
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

I'm so tired of the excuses for Campbell. Campbell sucks and I can't stand watching this guy play. He had a chance to lead our team for victory but instead choked as he always does. There are a lot of QB'S that run for their life and they get the job done. Aaron Rodgers has been sacked 41 times so far this season and he has been sacked a total of 84 times in his career and he hasn't even finished his 2nd full season as a starter and the Packers lead the league in penalties and yet he gets it done. Ben Roethlisberger has been sacked 27 times this season and has been sacked 219 times and hasn't even played 6 full seasons since he has been in the league but he gets the job done and has 2 super bowl rings. Jason Campbell has been sacked 28 times this season and has been sacked 94 times in his career in this will be his 3rd season as starter.

sorry but that doesn't excuse throwing into double coverage T
at the end of the game when it counts...

Zorn has been tellng that clown to just run...and what does Jason do? He forces a pass with the game on the line. He isn't clutch. High completion percentages and good feelngs don't win games.

The guy that is not clutch is Shaun Suisham. JCam got us in field goal position to make it a two score game. Our kicker missed, not cause a player tipped it like Campbells throw, he missed cause it was a poor kick.

Campbell is playing his guts out to play with this battered oline, yet another injury. Unreal!!!! I can't imagine who we will have starting at week 17.

Nice game by Cartwright put the team just didn't make enough BIG PLAYS to win the game. Dropped Interceptions on D and just not being aggressive on offense.

Dude get real. Shaun Suisham had not even missed a FG all year until today and you say he isn't clutch. But you are making excuses for Campbell that has sucked all season long and has made more then his share of mistakes this season. Unbelievable.

I suppose because of that last TD pass everyone will argue that Romo played well.

I bet you are one of the people on this forum that keep making excuses for his as to why he can't get the job done.

Dude, our defense holds a team that has been averaging 30+ points per game to 7 points and you come out here and say that's the worst they looked on that drive. I don't care what quarter they gave the TD in. When you hold a team to 7 points you have to win that game

I can't understand how they could play one way for 55 minutes and then have everything go topsy-turvy on the last drive that mattered.

Why don't you ask the offense where they have been in all of 60 minutes instead of expecting the defense to do everything. I don't believe it. This defense for the most part this season has carried this team and I can recall hearing today after the loss that we have a defense that can get us possibly to the super bowl and yet they give up 7 points in a game and people want to complain.

we are a group of players, we are NOT a team, BUT .....

Post by SkinsJock »

I think the fact that we won a game last week and held the Cowboys to 7 points this week AND actually were unlucky not to win, is a really good thing - we are nowhere near as good as these 2 teams and we won one and almost won the other :D

I understand that many here are disapointed because we let this game get away BUT many of the players on the field yesterday, refused to let the injury situation or lack of effort by some get them down - this group of players is not a good team at all and to almost win the last 2 games is just amazing - we need a complete overhaul at the top but, speaking for myself, this loss is not near as upsetting because we played with a lot of effort

as I have said before - it is not all about wins and losses when you are a bad team and this is a bad team; it's also about seeing some of these players continuing to try and make a difference while other players and coaches around them are not doing all they can to be better and make others better

maybe Zorn will give some of the other players a chance now

The defense played great and they don't deserve any blame here, but was there any doubt that once we missed the field goal, Dallas would walk done field uncontested for a 7-6 win?

I don't know why, but I never for a second thought the defense would stop them in that situation...

And could we drop some more INT's... would that be possible? The one we manage to hold on actually cost us yardage...

Just the same ol' same ol'. Our defense was stout, but got gassed at the end of the game. Our offense was anemic and had all sorts of problems moving the ball. That caused our coaches to play super conservative football, which caused us to lose. Like I said in the game thread, it's like George Allen football without the winning.

yep, same as usual. defence does its job, offence not so much. The D is lead by quarterback London Fletcher. The O isnt lead by Campbell despite his ok numbers. Smarts and leadership get the team further in that position than just physical skills

OK Canes! maybe they are a "terrible" team to you but the reality is that for the first half they were looking pretty good to everyone else - are you saying that Denver should not have been considered a top 10 team in the NFL when we played them? They beat Dallas, New England and San Diego in a row and were 6-0 - yes they lost but that was in Baltimore and against Pittsburgh

sorry - we are a bad team but Denver is not a terrible team

Yes, they started well. But Denver has now dropped four games in a row and just got destroyed by San Diego 32-3 at home. They caught some teams by surprise early on in the season, but they are a mess right now. Their offense is bad, their arrogant head coach was trash talking San Diego's linebackers before the game, and Moreno and Marshall got into it on the sidelines during the game. The Broncos have A LOT of problems right now.

I kind of see Denver as the Skins of last year....lot of things went right for them to start hot, and then...as those things start going wrong, they lose. For example, last year, we had no turnovers for several games. Turnover free football is just not a reality in the NFL.

I'm sorry Canes - the Broncos were 6-2 when they came in here and the 2 losses were at Baltimore and against the Steelers - I understand what you are saying but that has nothing to do with how good a team they were when they came onto the field to play us - they were very confident that they were going to win because they were a better team - I'll bet that there were not many people at that game after being down 14-0 that would have said, "this Broncos team is terrible, we can win this game." maybe some, but not many

all I'm saying is that we are a bad team and the Broncos are not a terrible team - we managed a win aginst them which is great and we almost beat the Cowboys who were 11 point favorites - no big deal, just shows what you can do if you want it bad enough

we need to get a team together that feels they can win any time they get on the field not just if the other team does not play well - we are not that team - the Broncos and the Cowboys have a good chance at being in the playoffs

You're right, it was one of is best games this year, and that should scare the you-know-what out of you. One of his best games, and NO POINTS.

let me explain why this virtuoso performance looked so good to you .. OK? It's because he looks so bloody poor most of the time that on the rare occurrence that he does make a few difficult 3rd down throws, it's such a shock that people start talking this nonsense like they were in the Washington Post story which was titled "Campbell Shines". WHAT??? How in the world can anyone say that a QB Shines by throwing for 256 yards and Zero TD's and 1 int ? This is just Jason Campbell's version of shining because for him, the bar is that low. But at the end of the day, this "shining" along with $2 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

No, shining would be better associated with the first year kid Stafford who threw for 422 yards and 5 TD's yesterday. Or Rogers who threw for 344 and 2 TD's. Not Jason Campbell.

Another point that needs to be made here is that contrary to what some believe here ... Jason Campbell is not the only QB in the NFL who has to deal with a pass rush. Rogers, as an example has been sacked 43 times compared to Campbell's 29, yet he's managed to throw 19 TD, 5 ints, and the Packers only average 19 rushing yards per game more than the Redskins. Both he and Campbell were close in draft position, and both have been in the league the same amount of time though Campbell has almost TWICE the game experience Rogers has.

What's the difference between them is this: Rogers is a very good QB that in spite of a leaky o-line, makes plays like an NFL calibre QB. He has pocket presence, can avoid the rush and finds his receivers downfield. And he doesn't throw lame and off the mark balls repeatedly, forcing his receivers to guess where the ball might be delivered on every pass.

Campbell, on the other hand can only find excuses instead of receivers, and misses wide open TD passes even when he does have good pass pro. He is just a very mediocre QB that requires perfect conditions to be moderately successful ... which has been the case ALL ALONG. Even his college career is exactly the same ... he had ONE GOOD season as a senior because he had an all star support cast that didn't need to rely on him to win. He was the beneficiary of that team, not the leader or the reason for their success.

But he's in the right place. Washington DC ... home of the "all talk and no action' crowd. Home of the big promises and no delivery. Were he in Philly or New York, the fans would have booed him into the Atlantic ocean long ago. He wouldn't even be able to come out of the house without body guards.

He's a loser, and since he took over as QB, so have the Redskins, and they will remain losers as long as he's here.

Hey Ray, its not like our last QB before JC had us as "winners"..

A lot of people act like we were God's gift to the NFL before we got JC, maybe we shouldn't go so far back to the glory days but instead remember what we were before JC got here after the glory years. I agree he isn't a real good QB but he's our QB so to not anyone in paticular but maybe just zip it and realize it's called "offense" and not "QB and the boys"

Obviously there are more problems that JC on offense. Nobody is disputing that. However, JC is the leader of one of the worst offenses in the NFL and he deserves his share of the blame.

Unlike many folks, I don't blame only JC for this offense's offensiveness. However, I do think he should shoulder a great amount of the blame, because with him as QB, we just do not have a productive offense. Period.

Every time I see that, I think, "Man, it'd be nice to score 5 TDs in one game. Let alone have a QB who could throw for 5."

It's almost like this mythical bar that we'll never reach...

Both Campbell and the Redskins need to go in different directions - Campbell needs a coach and a team that he can feel comfortable with - we need a QB
