Whew! I'll take the win. Hopefully my Jason Garrett-induced ulcer closes in time for Turkey Day. Skins were pretty gritty considering all the talent that was missing. I've seen too many of these to expect that it'd be anything other than a battle. I'm just glad Suisham left the door open and we finally got onto the scoreboard. Doesn't get much uglier than that, but any win over Washington is cause for celebration. Good game, Hogs, and get well.

sorry but that doesn't excuse throwing into double coverage T
at the end of the game when it counts...
Zorn has been tellng that clown to just run...and what does Jason do? He forces a pass with the game on the line. He isn't clutch. High completion percentages and good feelngs don't win games.
The guy that is not clutch is Shaun Suisham. JCam got us in field goal position to make it a two score game. Our kicker missed, not cause a player tipped it like Campbells throw, he missed cause it was a poor kick.
Campbell is playing his guts out to play with this battered oline, yet another injury. Unreal!!!! I can't imagine who we will have starting at week 17.
Nice game by Cartwright put the team just didn't make enough BIG PLAYS to win the game. Dropped Interceptions on D and just not being aggressive on offense.

Any time that an "offense" scores only 6 points at the end of the game, the chances of victory are nearly NIL ...
Bad game for Suisham to fail a must-have FG. I do not blame him for the long one. That was just a poor call by Zorn ... again.
Betts out is going to be another tough one for the rest of the season. The Team is playing like a Team and I applaud that. But this attitude isnot enough to fill the deficiencies at the same positions we have discussed OVER and OVER in this board.
One last argument, Jason Campbell has never been, is not and will never be a leader. I am not talking about his poor calls. I am talking about lack of LEADERSHIP. I am not even going to discuss his plays.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

In 5 years here JC has only once (Saints game) led this team on a 4th quarter comeback win. He simply doesn't have what it takes. Romo was under pressure all game too and he stepped up when he needed to. JC didn't.
What game was you watching? Romo had adequate time to pass the ball pretty much all game. You are right he hasn't came behind and won many games but it just ain't on him, this ain't boxing, it is a team game. Guys including Campbell has to play like professionals and make plays with accurate wise throws, players have to catch and break tackles, etc.
Cartwright let a DE catch up to him and bring him down on a potential td pass, Fletcher missed a INT, Hall let Romo tackle him on a fumble recovery when it should have been scooped up for a td, and McIntosh missed a pick square in his hands, Kelly could have scored on his lone pass...This TEAM isn't good.
Haven't you learned? Everything is Campbell's fault. According to the hogs.net, there are 11 players on defense and one player on offense. If the team loses, its the qb's fault. Its funny because he played eight times worse than that last week. He had one of the better games he has had all year today, he was clearly one of the best offensive players on the field, and its all his fault. I suppose because of that last TD pass everyone will argue that Romo played well.

Yes, I think we should complain that the defense gave up 7 points.RedskinsFreak wrote:frankcal20 wrote:That last drive on our defense was the worst our defense has looked all season.
I can't understand how they could play one way for 55 minutes and then have everything go topsy-turvy on the last drive that mattered.

You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

Someone help me get the knife out of my heart, please. So far, I haven;t found anything esle to help take the pain of this loss away. So many things that woulda, coulda, shoulda resulted in a "W". They will all be hashed over and over, but in the end, you gotta give credit to the effort. Still, this is a tough one to take. And, because it was against the Cowpukes, makes it even harder to take.

This is a hard pill to swallow. The way I see it, the Redskins LOST this game more so than the Cowpunks WON this game. If you hold a team to 7 points you should win...unless you can only score 6. Suisham should have been on the sideline at end of the 1st half. Why is Zorn playing it "safe" his job was lost as soon as they brought in Sherm Lewis, he needs to be taking every chance he can. Detroit..DE-EFFING-TROIT threw a ball into the endzone and got a DPI call and scored to win the game.
I will say that instead of an overwhelming feel of doom and gloom, it seems like we have chances to win games but we keep shooting ourselves in the foot with penalties and this week...missed field goals.

If you're mad at your kid, you can either raise him to be a nose tackle or send him out to play on the freeway. It's about the same. ~Bob Golic
We did not lose the game because the defense gave up 7 points - the defense did very well including the drive that gave up 7 points - The reason we lost the game is the same old reason that any team wins or loses - one team scores more points than the other
the game's rules have been changed to make it easier to score points - nobody wants to see a better defense any more - all the NFL has been doing for the past 10 years is try to make the games higher scoring - everyone including the advertisers like games with high scores
this loss is totally on the offense for not scoring more points than the other team - the "leaders" of the offense who are ulitimately resposible are the play callers, the HC and the QB - those are the reasons we lost this game

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Another game that we don't score a TD in. It's almost impossible to win playing like that.
Not much more to be said.
It's embarrassing that fans who I know love this team are so blind that they defend a QB that could o.ly muster 6 pts. On top of that his "good game" is misled by his stats. Dinks and dunks where many needed great catches to complete don't name a great game. We should've stayed with Brunell then because at least he was accurate with those passes. For those accusing JC critics of not watching the game should watch Replay. Off 3-step drops he doesn't let it go. That's why he gets sacl3d and pressured. The two safety valves to Rock were the only two times he's beat the blitz all season. JC can't read a thing. If we were grading him on success despite not knowing what the defense was doing, he's incredible. Too bad that's a key part of being a QB.

For the record, I didn't blame the defense.
Any D that gives up 7 and doesn't win should be able to sue for non-support.
But, in a day where Romo was at a 36.7 QB rating level for 3.5 quarters, we get to the "have to have a stop" possession and he jacks it up to a 137.5?
The defense gave up 7. The sad-sack Redskins needed it to give up 0.

The Offense is obviously not doing their job - no secrets there. I will say, the injuries on that unit are absolutely crazy. No (good) team can withstand this. Starting our 3rd string RB, 2nd string TE, 3rd string RG, 2nd string LT.
Our defense did a great job today but I'd still like to see that unit take advantage of opportunities "given" to them. Come on, Rocky must make that catch. I thought Carlos was wearing 52 on that play. How about the defense scoring one TD on a turnover? Give us a spark. When is the last time our defense scored a TD?
Besides Haynesworth, our defense is very healthy. We've lost Horton for the year and that's it. For the past few years, we've focused on getting FA pickups and draft picks on the defensive side of the ball. They better be carrying us.

After watching this game I have no problem saying that Campbell should not be the QB for this team. The guy doesn't win games plain and simple, he may not ALWAYS lose games, but he does sometimes, and he NEVER wins games. "but he shows nice touch on dump-offs...." who cares?? He's a starting QB in the NFL, HE SHOULD. He plays scared, he has always played scared, he will continue to play scared. A lot of guys missed plays and played poorly, but Campbell is supposed to be the team leader, the momentum builder, when really all he is, is the King of mediocrity.
