Biggest Impact

Post by Smithian »

Out of all these guys, who do you think will make the biggest impact on the defensive side of the ball? I think Marcus Washington... Not sure why.

Also: Woohoo! Finally, my 200th post!

Sean Taylor will make the biggest impact and the glue will be M. Barrow. Barrow will set a new team record for tackles and Sean for the most highlights.

Griffin will be the reason Washington, Barrow, and Taylor all look so great. Griffin won't get the recognition but he will be the one who makes the good things happen.

I don't think Barrow will make as many stops as he usually does because here in DC he has 2 great line backers to line up with who can get to the man just as fast or faster as he can. Arrington will be more confident with him there and will be able to do more without worring about the other guy.

CP will probably make a big impact on our defense. Keep them off the field.

This year, I think Barrow will have the biggest impact when it comes to defensive acquisition's this offseason. In the future, I think Sean Taylor will become the hard hitting force he was in college.

I think Taylor will have the biggest impact. I have no doubt that some rookie mistakes will happen, but overall he's going to do some amazing things.

Look for Shawn Springs to make us completely forget about that Champ guy. I think he will be tested early, and will rise to the occasion.

He has to fill #24's shoes... Looks like his jersey is to small, sometimes.

But Griffin is not that great .... barely good.

Sean "the hit man" Taylor will have to find places to hide the bodies starting with Tampa !!!

I agree that Griffin is not a superstar. However, his strength is in stopping the run - something that we have not had since...(pick a player here - Ill go with Tim Johnson the most underrated DT we have ever had). We had very good linebackers (and corners) last year - as well as this year. However, as good as they were they couldn't run side to side to track down the ball without running around some pansy DT getting blown off the ball by the opposing Oline. I read over and over on this site about how Trotter was out of position time and again last year. It is my opinion that Trotter, LA etc. were trying to overcompensate for abysmal dLine play. Trotter is a good linebacker and now that he is a June 1 victim, some team out there is going ot pick up a good linebacker at rock bottom prices. The other choices were Barrow and Washington on this poll. Are they big upgrades over what we had last year? Upgrades maybe but not big ones. Griffin is a big upgrade even if he is an average player. All he has to do is hold his own. Sean Taylor is a big upgrade as well - but as much as I love havng him on the team I just don't think a safety can have as much impact as a solid DT.
