Turmoil surrounds Redskins Park as players, coaches seek answers

Now even the players seem to be talking about it ... in public

Wide receiver Antwaan Randle El called the latest front-office move "a little weird." Cornerback DeAngelo Hall disagreed with coach Jim Zorn's halftime quarterback switch -- "I don't think that was the right move" -- and running back Clinton Portis wondered when all the change would stop. For the truly offbeat, linebacker Rocky McIntosh decided this was the week to call the stadium music "ridiculous" on Twitter.

Cornerback Carlos Rogers started the ball rolling last week when he said that all have some culpability for a season that has gone downhill fast, adding that "it starts with the ownership." Quarterback Jason Campbell echoed the sentiment this week, saying essentially that the franchise's problems can't be solved with a lineup change or by a giving an unretired Bingo moderator play-calling duties.

"We've got more issues than you can think of," Campbell said. "They're not going to be solved overnight, and they're not going to get solved in a short period of time."
Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Its not as bad as everyone is making out to be. Yes we need to address certain issues. The players however are now using this as an excuse to go out and play like crap. IMO.

I do not agree with the first sentence and I agree with the last.

sorry chief, I cannot agree with that - there are a number of issues and both players and coaches are not doing well at all but to think that the players are using this situation as an excuse or as a reason to not play as well as they can is BS - these are NFL players and they have not been prepared or coached very well

In my opinion the offensive lack of production and inability to score does not fall so much on the players as the system and the suitabilty of the players to be able to execute it and the game planning/play calling by the coaches
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Dude, we look bad on the field, no team speed, dropped balls, a QB that can't take shots downfield, a decent 1! running back system, terrible kick returner who will not make it past the 50 yd line all year, a medeocre field goal kicker who can't kick off into the end zone, a misfit o-line, horrible corners who either cant catch or refuse to make solid tackles, no true #1 reciever....

If you dont think other teams know this and exploit the hell out of us you are wrong. This Redskins team im seeing right now is the same one I watched years ago (pre ST). The only difference is everyone had a love affair with Lavar Arrington. Danny marketed that clown so well you still see his jerseys all over the place.

The players right now need to look at themselves. No matter how bad the playcalling is, they should execute.

You know, at first I have to admit I felt somewhat bad for the team thinking they are really going out and giving it their all and management was in disarray. After watching the past two weeks however there is a definate lack of intensity out there, more so on offense. So i'm now switching my focus to the team. They need to make plays regardless. Campbell thowing 6 yards on a 3 and 8 isnt the call coming from the sidelines.... thats an obvious checkdown.

I may get guys telling me im wrong all day long, and thanks to the one guy who actually responded with his own comments. But this is honestly the same team weve had for a long time, Just starting to really unfold now. Blind homers suddenly are understanding why the "haters" have always been critical.

I will argue this with anyone

I'm simply saying management has been an issue for over a decade, not just in the last two years. Therefore it shouldnt be such a suprise.

Sndyer needs to learn how to manage an NFL team. He should spend time with Art Rooney, Robert Kraft, Jim Irsay, Jeffrey Luria, and Steve Bischotti and learn their methods, when to interfere, how to hire and manage, and how to provide an organization that is balanced, competitive, and is favored to win each season. He can get this type of leadership from these men.

Okay guys - maybe we are on the same page - the only issue I was addressing was that in my opinion the players are not using the current situation as an excuse to not play well

I think the team has been put in the mess it is in right now by the guys in charge and the most visible are Snyder & Cerrato - one as an owner that does not have the knowlege it requires to be involved with the NFL and how a franchise is managed and the other because the personnel we have are not forming a basis for a competitive team and we have little to no quality depth

We need someone who knows how to manage a NFL franchise to come in and take control - I'm hoping that this mess will persuade Snyder to consider where we are as a franchise and why

Do you really think that the players.. all of the players arent trying to play the game... i know that CP looks like he doesnt want to play... but Rock, Cooley... those young guys came to play... the D looks like they WANT to play (though i know that our corners cant)

Yes its is a soap opera with the coaching and the office... in the end of it all life goes on...

I'm starting to think it's not "The players are not executing" but more like "The players are not CAPABLE of executing".

That's not necessarily that they lack the ability to execute (although it probably IS the case for certain individuals) but it also is a case of asked to execute a system that doesn't complement their abilities.

yup, it started with JC17 (hate to say this). He either locks on to recievers or afraid to give his guys a chance to compete for the ball. Now the recievers are just running and doesn't look like they are really trying to get open, they run the route look back and see JC looking the other way and they cut off the route. Or run their route JC pump fakes to the outside WR, gets CB bites and he throws to the middle. Now the O line is shot, we have a QB that looks like he's overwhelmed, recievers that don't try hard to present themselves coz they know the QB sux, and the O line is shot, and RB's can't get the ball past the LOS without avoiding a D player in the backfield, no hole to run thru. Now the D bails them out a lot, but the CB's are now sucking because they practice against recievers that don't try hard, so they are relaxed. They stop the initial move and relax, they do not realize that the other teams recievers actualy put multiple moves and try HARD to get open. THen the CB smiles about it. Shrugs it off. This plague of complacency is spreading it seems like.
#21 (36) This IS and will always be the High watermark where all new DB's are measured.

106.7 Mike Wise show is talking currently about how the players could be using excuses for their lack of performance...

Mainly they are on the topic of excuses...
