What happens if we finish 2-14?
So, I am thinking we are going to go 2-14, maybe 3-13 if we can somehow beat the raiders @ oakland. The most points we have scored is 17 and 4 of the teams we have played are in the bottom 7 defensively. After tonights game, we will likely be 2-5. Our remaining games are @Falcons, Broncos, @Cowboys, @Eagles, Saints, @Raiders, Giants, Cowboys and @Chargers. I'd say that best case scenario, we'll hit 4-12.
The question I pose is this. What does Snyder do given any of those records? Zorn is definitely gone. Campbell is definitely gone. Our offensive line is horrible and our skill players are aging. We have the makings of a very good defense.
Does Snyder admit to himself that his Jerry jones style of management doesn't work and hire a real coach (Cowher or Shanahan?) and a GM and fire Vinny? And then start drafting an offensive line and a QB?
Or does he keep Vinny, hire Chucky, give up NO control and pretend it's just the coach and NOT the players, Vinny or himself?
Can Snyder deny the truth if we hit 2-14?
I was actually beginning to think he'd wake up, but this Zorn stuff and the way Vinny has been acting have me starting to think the worst, yet again...

Would a real coach like Cowher or Shannahan really be an improvement? Shannahan was once a brilliant innovator who's kind of slowed some and wasn't a great GM (though he was very good on the offensive side!), Cowher has never been a personnel man but was a great coach...
What the Redskins need is a coach and a REAL general manager. Russ Grimm has been getting a lot of HC buzz, what about him and Bobby Paul?
Russ Grimm could bring in a host of former contacts. He has lots of Redskins ties and could field a great staff.
Mark Whipple is the OC of the Hurricanes who might be persuaded to come to Washington in the same capacity. He was the QB coach in Pittsburgh with Grimm, Mike Miller is the passing game coordinator in Arizona where he works closely with Grimm maybe he would come along too... and there's others.
Bobby DePaul broke into the league with Washington. He's got some good connections to build a staff. What if he got Charley Casserly as an advisor (kind of like Floyd Reese is to the Pats.) There's also some other names he could bring on board...
We need to build a team, and that starts in the Front Office.

that sounds great to me, the question really is, is Snyder going to continue to be the over the shoulder, final say guy, or is he going to put some guys he has faith in, in charge and give them some time and of course the money to get it done?
i hope the guy finally figures it out for all our sakes...

hi
im new hear but been a skins fan since i was kneehigh to a smurf. i myself am getting sick and tired of the coaching and staff not investing in a good quality QB. crap they bought the players why the hell cant they get a consistant qb and a legit coaching staff? its the mental errors on the players behalf that i put on the coaching staff.
as for this eagle game bench campbell already. go 2-14 get first maybe second pick and get a qb to groom and rebuild AGAIN.

I'm not sure I understand - whether we finish 2-14 or 5-11 or 6-10 - the HC and most likely Cerrato are gone - Snyder finds some way to 'manage' the mess and everyone (aside from myself and a few others) think we'll be contenders in a year or 2
what's the point of the question?
this team needs rebuilding but the problem is to begin you need a 'base' and it looks like that 'base' will continue to be Snyder

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

not sure, but it is ironic that we have a new playcaller and all of a sudden Fred Davis and Devin Thomas have their best games... granted,
ey got injured, which allowed Davis to excel, but even in the beginning, they were calling plays for our best receiving option, and that was
ey... i think Lewis knows how to use our weapons better... 6 sacks tonight, but at least 3 of those were on JC, just like the INT and the fumble...

Absolutely not. We need a coach that has some clout and the resume to be able to stand up to Dan Snyder.

Whipple is staying put imo. His son is a walk-on qb at the U and his other son is a sophmore in high school and is going to be recruited most likely next year, so I doubt he moves him from Dade County. He is staying at Miami for at least a couple of years.[/quote]

the question is, as bad as this team is this year, is that enough to make snyder realize what HE has done to this franchise? and if so, is he willing to change himself to help us become great again?
we will never get a great coach to come here ever again unless Snyder gives up complete control to the coach along with a real GM.
IMO we need to go hardcore OL in next years draft, but we also need to grab a QB or two somewhere in there. I say we trade down and pick up either another 1st rounder or an early 2nd rounder, then draft 3 OLine in the 1st two rounds, then two QBs and then finish will all OLine. Our defense is just fine as is for 2-3 years. We need OLine, and a shiny new QB. That's it!

2 sacks were on JC, and one of those was questionable. The fumble was obviously his fault. It was a blitz and he had no time, but he stepped out into space and acted like he didn't know there would be pursuit... The other one was when he stepped up too far and got sacked by a linebacker.
I'm not sure that he could have avoided that sack if he hadn't stepped up too far, though. It's hard to judge him on his ability to avoid sacks in a game where he gets 2 seconds unless we go into max protect. Clearly the fumbles are a real problem, but I have doubts that anything less than a great QB (Manning or Brady) could do anything with this line. Romo, Warner, McNabb, Rivers, E Manning, Flacco, Rodgers or Ryan might have beaten the Chiefs last week, but they would get us to 6-10, not 10-6.
JC isn't going to take us to Super Bowl, but most NFL starting QB's couldn't turn this bunch into a winning offense, either. Not with this line.
I was excited that Sherm was able to get D Thomas involved... I think in the long run that makes our passing game much more viable. As far as Freddy goes, like you said those were all balls that would have gone to

Since Chris Samuels, on the first day of the draft:
O-Line: 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D-Line: 0
WR: 4
O-Line: 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D-Line: 0
WR: 4
Q. How does JC go from last year at this point in the season when we were 6-2 and he was leading the O to this ?
A. its the Oline...
A. its the Oline...

I personally don't see us doing much better than 3-13...so after this season we just have to hope that Snyder does the right thing and hires a real GM & HC.
It seems to me like all you hear from any sports analysis show is that the problem is the FO, so maybe this will be the year Snyder makes the right moves for the fans & the organization.
This organization needs a Bill Parcells type of house cleaning, someone to come in and let these players/coaches know that if you're not pulling you're weight then you will be gone.
On a side note:
I would love to see Russ Grimm as a HC for the Skins & I pray we don't do something stupid like draft Bradford(the next Chad Pennington)

You may be right about Whipple, I was just mentioning him as a guy Grimm knows well, but I disagree that Grimm doesn't have what it takes to stand up to Snyder. The man is a Redskins legend, and Danny needs to know by now how well micromanaging works in the NFL.
