Not saying Snyder is a good owner (because he's clearly not), but the Redskins under Cooke had a worse record than the Redskins under Snyder. Just think on that one.

The first trip to the playoffs of the Snyder era with Norv Turner was a result of the work done by the previous ownership. So, it is not as clear to me what owner really has obtained worse results. But I do know who is the worse owner for many more facts than the record: Daniel Snyder.

Snyder is destroying the traditional loyal fan base. He moved the team into the corporate world. He "thinks" that he is a good GM and knows anything about football. He interferes with players and coaches.

None of these flaws can be attributed to John. John knew that he did not know. Snyder does not even know that. Snyder's ego is as large as the size of his cluelessness.

Dude, again, I wasn't making a comment that Snyder was a good owner. He isn't. But....neither was Cooke.

And mezz, we'd have a much nicer owner, and we'd essentially be the Lions (while 3 playoff trips under Snyder stinks, we had ZERO under Cooke). Would you be happy with that?

Pulp Cooke only had 5-6 year to judge from and they were under tough circumstances to say the least..to say we would have been the Lions is baseless

please read my Wellington Mara comment---FACT--clueless HIS FIRST 15 YEARS ...BUT ALWAYS ADHERED TO TRADITIONAL NFL org charts and MO'S
Rooneys were stinking it up for almost 20 years after there super bowls but always adhered to Continuity and patience

Snyder has not only sucked HIS FIRST 10 YEARS but has done ZERO to move this franchise forward ZERO..hes made a mockery of this franchise at every level...Im sorry Pulp
I agree with this, we will never know how good Cooke would have been...But they would have been the WASHINGTON REDSKINS
not the joke Franchise they are today-FACT..WERE NOT JUST BAD were a joke!
Read all message boards and blogs etc Read Bosshog's blog...You honestly believe that fans would have gotten to a point to chant under Cookes box----sell the team!
NEVER
because he would have been an NFL owner of a higher degree.
With Football Men running the team accountability patience continuity all respected and adhered too..
sure there woould have been losses etc
But things woul have been different...ALOT DIFFERENT

fact---The man who was born raised for this job with 30 years experience is off on the sideline s like the rest of us..it hurts

thats all im saying

Norv, would still be our coach if Cooke was here, because as John Cooke said, "Norv had things headed in the right direction"

I'm sure the Fords thought the same thing for Matt Millen, but only gave into public outcry!

Skin do not if you remember this but that 99 team was field goal away from being in the NFC championship...were 11-6 going into that semi final game
and we had a SB winning caliber QB---fact
plus that 99 team was the youngest team IN THE NFL or top 5 at the very least.. I remember everyone talking about that , that year
Snyder came in and signed every old player available and booted Brad and many others
COOKE IS RIGHT!!
Norv also won a HOME GAME in the playoffs that year
I did not like Norv but that 99 team was headed up and it was detonated by DS

Your comparison to the Lions is baseless given what i just wrote

I guess since you put it that way

Go back and look at that roster and tell me if that team had SB championship written anywher in its future. The played well because of BJ (aquired after Snyder got the team) and I still contend that Norv wouldn't have felt the preasure to win right away and they wouldn't have ever made the playoff that year if Norv wasn't afraid the Danny was going to kick him to the curb.

Now did the Danny ruin it, yes. But Norv would still be looking for a playoff appearance under Cooke and yes I think they would have ended up like the Lions with Cooke running the show.

Norv is currently out in SanDiego destroying one of the most tallented team in the league. They won exactly three games outside of their pittiful division last year. Hell Zorn did better than that with less talent!

I'm not trying to say Snyder is a good owner and isn't a big Donk or Rick, because he isn't and is, but the team wouldn't have been any better under John Cooke! And we wouldn't be able to laugh at the fact that the Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since Clintons first term, because they would be saying well you haven't won since 92.

Yes, I know that is all conjecture and speculation, but that is how I feel! Disagree if you want, but neither one of us can say with any certainty that we are right!
