This year, he looks like Dwight Freeney...and it's not because he got any better. I'll give you one hint...the guy wears number 92 and he's 3 times bigger than anybody else on the defense.

Haynesworth is paid to clog holes and induce double teams. That is what he does. He collapses the QB pocket.

It seems to me you expect the guy to jump over the center while simultaneously intercepting the pass on the way to a ninety yard touchdown.

Get real. A Dts job is to fill the gap, collapse the pocket and cause dissruption in the backfield. Haynesworth does that.

Sure 100 Million dollars is a whole lot to pay a DT. Is that Alberts fault? Of course not. Any man in his right mind would jump on that kind of opportunity.


It is not Albert Haynesworths job to manage the cap or control what size contracts Danny and Vinny should be giving out.

Haynesworth is a force on the D-line but we need to face reality. Snyder as usual spends way too much $$ for players that are either out of their prime or really just not what the team needs. 100 mil for 1 D-linemen or use that 100 mil to sure up the O-line and get a few solid D-linemen??? I don't think the choice is that hard if you take off the Danny colored shades.

Both of those players are just fine IMHO. It's hard to be an attacking and disruptive defense when you have a ball & chain (offense) hooked to you.

How much can they gamble when you're protecting 6 points?

- Hall is a bit of a let down but catches anything thrown his way. But he's nowhere near as bad as many make him out to be.

- Haynesworth is a beast.

Haynesworth had a good game yesterday but I honestly laugh everytime I see him flopping around on the ground after a play. I think he should hire his own med vac crew. Like those guys in Euro League Soccer. They run out with the gurney and then take him off the field. He can catch his breath and then come back on and blow another play up. It's just funny but a hell of a game.

(2) The choice was never sign Haynesworth or sign an Offensive Line. Name me five O-Linemen of any worth that were moved in the off season (outside of Dockery since he came to the Skins). I can only think of Matt Birk, Jordan Gross, Stacy Andrews and Jason Smith. You built O Lines through the draft...something we have neglected for years.

The selection was even more limited than that. Jordon Gross didn't move teams; he was franchised and resigned with his own team. Jason Smith was a draft pick (first overall).

Perhaps the only guy worthwhile was Stacy Andrews, but for an OT who has been mediocre his entire career, he still got a 6 year, $39 million contract.

I love soccer, but what's even more amusing isn't the gurney. It's when a guy is on the ground, rolling around in agony clutching his ankle, and the medicos run out with their bottle of "magic spray." They spray the ankle, and all of a sudden, the guy is fine.

The magic spray is water, btw...

I wonder how long he can keep playing like that, blowing things up, going all out. THen sitting at the sidelines watching the O give the ball right back. Or get a 3 and long only to have the "star" DB acquisition get beat by a QB for a first down. I wonder how long until he starts getting complacent and doing just "enough" to get by.

To me it is sad of the personal insults giving to some of the players who are actually giving effort and are playing well. Would you blame him for taking $100 million? Thats the contract offered. Blame management for paying him that if anyone. All he can do is come in here and play and he's played at a pro bowl level thus far in my opinion. He was a beast out there yesterday.

He's 350 pounds. I don't know any defensive lineman in the history of the NFL that has been around that weight and not been out of shape. By any player being 300 pounds your simply overweight anyhow, have you ever seen a 300 pounder in the triathalon?....players at that size need to go out certain plays. Shaun Rogers does it, I remember ole Gilbert Brown did it, Pat Williams, the list goes on and on.

Considering Haynesworth is a $40 mil player (not a $100 mil player), I'd say that we are getting our money's worth out of him. The difference with our DL is like night / day.

Strange that he left the field early. I hate hearing all of the little things like that which are going on in this organization. How can you hold out hope for better things when even the little details aren't at all in sync?

There are other problems that deserve scrutiny.

He is one of the few players (Fletcher, ey, Doughty, Daniels, Carter) who has played well enough to back up a speech like that. Good to hear that he's taking a leadership role — honestly, if true, this is the best news I've heard in over a week!

ey did not specify the players who were crying but he said numerous players were getting emotional after fat ALs speech. Again I dont have a link but it was on the radio (Elliot in the Morning) who does a monday morning interview with ey every week.

He said AH was the one throwing stuff in the locker room and preceded to give an emotional speech about how everyone needs to man up.

His position as that leader may have been compromised by some of the lackluster play on his part. But then again which offensive player can honestly say they've brought 100% each week? Maybe ey. It's hard to say.

someone said something about building through the draft to get O linemen a few pages back. yep, that is the truth.

But not in washington.

I would have taken a bunch of FAs to bolster the O line rather than pay haynesworth. All we do is sign FAs. When was the last quality O line draft pick? Samuels? 10 years ago?

You spend money on your problem areas. The FIRST thing that should have been addressed through FA was the offensive line.

I hope AH plays all 16 (though doubtful) and I hope he is a great redskin for years to come. But I am not sold after him causing some serious disruption to teams that were a combined 0-fer when they played us.

I might lean more his way if he tears it up against the Eagles. BUt I doubt it.
