JC will start.

But I do not think it matters who starts. The tougher part of the schedule is ahead. So, just as we thought that it could not get any worse, we will face better teams all of which can score more than 17 points against us from now on.

I have to ask you this though - when did JC every play with a good o-line this season?

From the beginning of training camp - every lineman that is out right now was coming off of surgeries and also had other injuries they were dealing with. So when did he have a good o line this season?

It's not just the offensive line for JC though. It's the fact that he misses his reads and doesn't throw the ball where it needs to go. Sonny has talked about this all season. Gannon talked about it during the game yesterday and Zorn, both after the game and during his presser today, corroborated that. For all of JC's physical skills, he simply doesn't do a good job of reading defenses and recognizing where he needs to go with the ball.

Am I the only one who thinks we will play better vs. better teams?? Much more pressure to win vs. a bad team than lose vs a good team IMO

I agree with you. We always seem to play at the level of our talent. Unfortunatly we just don't play as well as they do and loose a close game.

Right DE, plus we always play down to our opponents so I'm gonna assume we'll play "up" for those better teams. I'll be in the cloud seats on Monday breathing that crisp Landover air screaming my brains out, I hope it'll help our offense get some mojo.

I don't think that we'll play better because we have a talent problem on offense and an apparent coaching problem on special teams. The games will still be close because the D is very good, but I don't think that we'll see any real improvement on offense or special teams.

i guess there's two schools of thought...

One, this season's not over so who gives us the best chance to win? I think it's a toss-up...

Two, the season's over and neither JC or TC are going to be here next year, so promote the #3 guy and decide if he's worth keeping around next year... of course that's not going to happen, but it'd be more fun to watch than this nonsense...

Only problem is that our #3 is on IR and won't be available until next season. Again, why did we release Chase to keep Colt? nevermind, that's not for this thread #-o

1) I think CP will start.
2) It doesn't matter because the O is totally disfunctional.

If our special teams was playing better, I'd say we could try Riggo's idea, where we play defense, get the ball back, punt on first down an play defense. Seems like DeAngelo Hall has more catches than most of our receivers, so why not just try to score on defense.

Isn't Andre Woodson on the practice squad playing catch with Marko Mitchell every day... promote those 2 guys and have a little fun with this situation...

No one knows whether Collins would do better with a reasonable chance .. i.e. give him a week of practice with the first team, and build a game plan around his strengths. He came in in the 3rd quarter, executing a game plan designed around Campbell, against a winless team that smelled blood in the water. He provided an immediate spark, hitting Moss deep, and the next series he was undermined by the inconceivable decision to follow the long Portis run with a naked backfield ... announcing to the defense .. we're passing.

One thing is undeniable ... Collins makes quicker decisions and more accurate throws than Campbell. So put a game plan together that takes advantage of that ... a lot of 3 step drops .. quick slants, lots of stuff for Cooley ... minimizing the pass rush from the leaky o-line.

Use a lot of max pro schemes to give Collins time to throw ... and quit having Betts in there on 3rd downs. And if Heyer can't at least make contact with his man, move him off the filed and get someone else in there. You just can't have the LT whiffing on his blocks.

In other words ... DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Campbell is gone at the end of the year. He's mentally toast now, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel. This season isn't salvageable at this point, so why not ride it out with Collins for a couple of games to see if he is a reasonable back up?

We have enough players to replace on the offense already .. let the more accurate passer play some so that we can evaluate the rest of the offensive roster. Having Campbell back there with that "deer in headlights" look on his face isn't going to buy the team anything.

It serves no useful function to keep working Campbell. And for all of you who think Campbell is a better choice .. then having Collins in there would enhance our draft position. It'd be a lose-win situation.

But the prophesies said that TC would instantly make the skins a contending team. Now he needs a week of practice, and when that fails, he'll need an off-season.

Surely you aren't suggesting that this team has problems other than at QB? Blasphemy!

I think they should have open tryouts for QB tomorrow, see who they can get, and roll the dice.

The Skins will probably go with Campbell figuring he gives them the best shot at winning a divisional home game.

JC (at best) should be on the practice squad! People keep saying he has all of this talent...well I've not seen it. He's athletic sure, but I don't see a whole heap of talent in him.

Since Colt is on IR I think they should bring back Chase and see what happens, it couldn't be much worse!

THat would make sense, bring in someone who was here thru the off season camps and stuff. But knowing Dan and cousin Vinny, they'd prolly bring brunnel back. :D
