I think the basic idea is right, build the OL, then get a long-term QB. Would be nice to have a franchise QB one day, but they would just get squashed behind the current line.

Favre would not last 2 weeks behind the skins o-line

Why him and not Whaley or Polian? The Steelers and Colts have had a whole lot more success than the Cards over the past 10 years.
Since Chris Samuels, on the first day of the draft:
O-Line: 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D-Line: 0
WR: 4

If people want to get away from the WCO why not Steve Keim as GM AND Russ Grimm as HC?

You and I don't always see eye-to-eye, but I would buy the season tickets I can't afford tomorrow if this pair were signed. I hated that we didn't go after Grimm as soon as they decided Gregg Williams wasn't the guy. Dude is an outstanding coach, who understands the importance of building from the lines out, who understands the tradition, the fans and the city and who can obviously coach the O-line.

Totally agree Grimm understands the importance of the OL and is a Redskin!! I would take Polian's son as well for GM

I'd be comfortable with that. As long as we have SOMEONE in place to block out Snyder. Somebody with enough clout to tell him to sthu or I'm leaving.

Grimm wouldn't work for that very reason. We need a coach that has the clout to stick up to Snyder, like a Gruden or Shanahan.

IF WERE GOING TO REBUILD HIRE A NEW GM!!!!

Just typing Cerrato'S LAST NAME on my keyboard is waste of valuable time in my life!

we should be done with him!!!!
but the only reason he is our Gm is because He lets Snyder be involved in the FO decisions

Who would come here under those circumstances...HELL JUST HIRE ANOTHER Lackey

we all keep going round and round on this and most agree that we need to change the way the franchise is operating. The key is that we need to hope that this present situation makes Snyder take a look at how the team has done by doing things his way

In order to become a competitive franchise we cannot continue down this path. Snyder's modus operandi to date has been to hope that by bringing in a 'better' coach and 'better' players the franchise will become better - this has not happened. We will not be a bettter team with the best coach and the best players in the NFL - we have already been witness to that - you need a group of players that make each other better and a coach that fits - Snyder has seen what happens when you get the best players available and the best coach available - this does not mean a better product on the field

We need a franchise that is controlled by guys that know how to run an NFL franchise and just maybe Snyder will see this now.

Hiring the best Redskins' coach in recent history did not help and bringing in another 'super/future HOF' coach to work with the team that has been assembled here is not going to work either - we need a lot of changes here and maybe this latest lesson will help
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Here is a list of draftees that were done at Keim's recommendation:

Adrain Wilson SS North Carolina State
Darnell Dockett DT Florida State
Anquan Boldin WR Florida State
Steve Breaston WR Michigan
Antrell Rolle FS Miami
Gerald Hayes MLB Pittsburgh
Karlos Dansby SOLB Auburn
Dominique Rogers-Cromartie CB Tennessee State
Deuce Lutui OG USC
Reggie Wells OG Clarion (PA)
Calais Campbell DE Miami

Not a bad list. Fitzgerald and Leinart were more Denny Green pushed picks. BTW, ex-Hog Russ Grimm would be a top candidate for the job.

well, yes!

I am just as frustrated as anyone and while we would like to just simply point to Snyder and Cerrato, I have a feeling that there's a bunch of other "yes-men" and cohorts of Snyder that are a part of his inner circle and just re-inforcing him about how to do this or handle that and basically how to "manage" our team - We may in fact lose Cerrato but we'll still have the Danny and his boys - that is very disapointing

Snyder needs to change and like a lot of people with "issues" he's just in denial that the main problem is himself

What would be great with Grimm as HC is that he's an offensive line guy, and he wouldn't be demanding playcalling duties. He'd be a HC only who could focus on those aspects of the job.

Grimm could probably bring along Mike Miller as OC (he's currently the passing game coordinator for the Cards.)

The uncapped year will allow the Redskins a fresh start. Try and trade whoever they can and cut the rest like Randle El, Portis, Samuels, Thomas and others. Cut the fat off the roster with no consequences and start actually building a team.

I know the Redskins are a mess, but you can't tell me a GM with some real power wouldn't LOVE this job. Lots of money, a huge stadium, a loyal fan base and a high draft pick? It's a situation where you would be set up for success.

Would Grimm turn this down if we had a real GM such as Steve Keim? Why would he? He's already a hero in Washington and now he'd have a chance to show he can actually do well as a HC in the NFL.

Like I've said before, pretty much ANY plan as long as it's carried through is going to work, but this one seems as solid as any. Danny's learned a LOT in the last 10 years. He would at least give Grimm and Keim a year and if they had a winning season they'd get all the leeway they needed to build a winner.
