Zorn to stop calling plays
After yet another poor offensive performance on Sunday afternoon in a 14-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at FedEx Field, the Washington Redskins did make a coaching change - but not the one many were expecting.
The Redskins announced late Sunday night that Vinny Cerrato, the executive vice president of football operations, had met with Coach Jim Zorn after the game and told him he thought Zorn had too much on his plate.
According to Zack Bolno, the Redskins' director of communications, Cerrato told Zorn he wants him to succeed and that he believes someone else should call the plays. Zorn did not disagree and the two will meet Monday to decide who will call the plays.
According to Bolno, wwner Daniel Snyder was not in the meeting but is aware of the decision.

Joe Flacco said we can't have Al Saunders back?
Huh?
Saunders is an offensive consultant for Baltimore.
Williams is the defensive coordinator for the 5-0 Saints.
Snyder and his little sidekick of dumb, Vinny, passed on both and opted for Zorn and here we are.......
RIP Sean Taylor. You will be missed.

Sure...let's keep peeling back this onion to figure out whats wrong. We benched Campbell. Offense still sucked. Zorn will give up playcalling...nothing will happen. He'll get fired...nothing new. New coach will come in and muck it up for two more years...offense is still inept. It's at this moment that Snyder will realize that the problem is the front office...and he will re-sign Vinny to another 10 year contract and continue paying players to not play
Miss you 21

In my blog this evening, I asked the question:
Looks like "superficial, cosmetic" it is...
A fan revolt is in the making, you can be sure. The question is, what will you be doing about it? Do you make the changes that you know you must make? Or do you take some superficial, cosmetic action? Do you blame the press? Or do you accept accountability, admit you have made major errors, and begin the process of making corrections?
Looks like "superficial, cosmetic" it is...

But Zorn is clearly poor at calling plays, so I'm for some change.
Heck, Sherm Lewis called Bingo numbers...... he'd be perfect for calling plays too.

This has been confirmed on http://www.Redskins.com
Looks like the latter to me.

maybe Snyder was not in the meeting because he's scripting the plays he wants Sherm to call for next Monday night's game with Philadelphia

the plot thickens - where is Skins Freak when we need him?

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Among the candidates are offensive coordinator Sherman Smith, offensive consultant Sherman Lewis and assistant head coach-running backs Stump Mitchell.
Yikes, these are my choices? I'll see you next year. It's time to start cheering on the Blackhawks.
