I think Ifeanyi just got tired of hearing it everyday from Portis "Yo dog, give me my number..." Ifeanyi probably said "Keep it up and I'm gonna pawn your rims off to Leonard Stephens."

Portis probably paid a good bit of money. It sucks that Ifeanyi was bought out. But at least I predicted the number change when we got Portis. I gave Iffy #30 and Portis #26 but changed it to Iffy #26 and Portis #26. I guess I'll have to change it again.

Newcomer Fred Baxter, a tight end signed earlier this week, is wearing No. 43, but that number is also thought to be temporary.

Yes, when you talk in terms of thousands it tends to be (more or less) chump change for something like a jersy number; but I wonder how high a guy like Portis would really go just to get his number?! Also, did he keep up-ing the dollar amount, or did he just let gentle time do its work on Iffy?. . . .

Such are the speculations of the slow, boring offseason.

I'd say pretty far. A lot of players believe in "lucky charms" and the such. I say give him whatever he feels he needs to give us a 2000 yd season

Ain't that the truth!!!

I think Danny did have something to do with it, as well. He must have been icthin' to get the #26 jerseys out to make some more cash. I mean, no one was gonna buy a #26 Ohalete jersey, right???

I don't believe Joe would concern himself with something like this. I think if he were to do so, he'd side with the guy who had it first.
No, I think Iffy was just made an offer he couldn't refuse.
