Another McFarlane Series passes without a single Redskin!

Post by Skinsfan55 »

For those of you who don't know Todd McFarlane, creator of the comic book "Spawn" is an action figure genius. If you ever go into a toystore and wonder why the action figures there are so much more detailed than when you were a kid... he is the reason. He's revolutionized the industry... and lucky for us (usually) he's an avid sports fan.

He's created dozens of the most realistic sports collectables ever made. Remember "Starting Lineup" figures by Kenner? Well, McFarlane makes them bigger and better. Anyway, he's just released photos of his latest NFL set... and not a single Redskin is in the bunch! Can you tell me any of these guys are more worthy than a current Skins player?

NFL SERIES 9 ACTION FIGURES UNVEILED
First Look at Complete Series of Upcoming Football Toys
May 28, 2004

We showed all our NFL fans photography of the next scheduled series of football figures a couple months back. That was NFL Series 8, set for release this August. We knew, of course, that would only keep the lions fed for so long.

With that said, here's your next meal: Photography of NFL Series 9. The line consists of the following players:
JAKE PLUMMER, Denver Broncos QB, No. 16
BRIAN URLACHER 2, Chicago Bears LB, No. 54
DAUNTE CULPEPPER 2, Minnesota Vikings QB, No. 11
CHAD JOHNSON, Cincinnati Bengals WR, No. 85
PRIEST HOLMES 2, Kansas City Chiefs RB, No. 31
KENDRELL BELL, Pittsburgh Steelers LB, No. 97
JONATHAN OGDEN, Baltimore Ravens T, No. 75

The next set coming out, that does not yet have photographs available features:

ADAM VINATIERI
JAKE DELHOMME
RANDY MOSS
ROY WILLIAMS
RICKY WILLIAMS
TRENT GREEN
TERRELL OWENS

I mean, c'mon! Where's the skins?

Well, I guess we could always buy this one and repaint it:

How long have you been collecting? I have almost the complete sets 1-7 of the nfl figures. I'm missing about 4-5.

You can get them for around ten bucks a piece, not too bad, and only a few dollars more than starting lineups were...

I still buy starting line ups too, there's this flea market in town... hasbro wrestlers and starting lineups all over the place.

My thoughts exactly... [/list]

300 dollars?! Holy Cow! and I thought I lucked out when I bought a Marshall Faulk (in a Colts uniform variant) and a Sammy Sosa (in an old school White Sox uniform variant) and sold them for 3 times the sale price on ebay! Maybe I should have held out until you could bid on them, I could have used that 300 dollars! :)

And almost having the complete set is quite impressive. I've got all the Red Sox players ever made and then a few of my favorites from other sports, like Paul Pierce, Mike Sweeney, Jim Thome, Barry Zito etc... I've only got about 15 all told I think, but it's early here and I don't have the inclination to do inventory :P

Yeah, but at least the Cowboys will get Roy Williams soon enough, the only ones we have is Portis (Broncos) and Davis who got released

I saw a Clinton Portis one in a Skins uniform. You could send in your own pick and get them made of your favorite player. Even Scott Cloman and Sultan McCullough can have their own figures made of themselves. As long as they supply a picture.

 Wow. . .I mean, where does one even begin with that one? ROTFALMAO I'm just going to assume there was some heavy sarcasm going on there.

 Oh well, at least at the end of the day this forum is about the best team in the NFL, and not NBA players. Hail to the Redskins!!
