JC was not good at all today. The tv commentators said it, Sonny said it, etc. He is lucky that he only had 1 pick, not the three that he deserved.
If anyone noticed, when we did our 2 minute drill to score the touchdown that made it 19-14 we were in the no-huddle and campbell looked at his best. He looks at his best out of the shotgun regardless.
True, but both of those drives were against prevent defenses looking to burn clock.

Another interesting fact: Campbell threw for 340 yards, completing passes to TEN different receivers. Total Runs: 13

I pointed this out before the game started, but the defense just lacks the ability to get off of the field. The lions converted 9 of 12 third downs. That is sickening. We have officially taken the crown of being the worst team in the NFL, by getting beat by the previous worst team in the NFL. This season has been the most depressing season I can remember.

Agreed. Not sure why some fans think he had a great game. They'd probably be singing a different tune had that pick 6 come to fruition.
I'd hardly call Campbell's last two drives 'garbage time' because the game was still within reach. He'll march up and down the field at will in the 4th quarter down by two scores, but the first 3 quarters he'll lay a big fat goose egg. New year, same ol' Campbell game management. Show me his stats in the first 3 quarters when the team has the opportunity to take the lead...
I can understand standing behind your team and its quarterback, but I can't understand calling what he did today "making plays". He in no way has shown he is a franchise QB. I'd call his play unacceptable after 40ish games and 2 years in the same offense.
I'm ready to see what Collins can do. He doesn't have Campbell's arm, but he makes up for it with touch and accuracy.

You think ANY established coach wants to come here seeing all the incompetence and ineptness in our FO?
i can agree with that...
it,s truly sad to see this organization fall to the depths it has fallen over the pat 10 years since danny bought this team..

I'm am a Raiders fan and Skins fan and Raiders are worse..Net ONE yard passing in the 2nd half today. I lost all emotional attachment to the Raiders a few years ago as I realize nothing will change until Al leaves one way or another. Skins have a similar problem but the owner is not quite as meddling in player decisions. Vinny is a tool though. I still route for them but I'm also becoming more detached from them. Offer Belichick 100 million and get him over here
Nooooo not Shannarat...get Gruden or someone else

Yes indeed. I knew the defense would be blamed for this debacle. Forget the continued failure to score in the red zone ... or getting stuffed on the goal line.
Everyone knows you need to score to win.
What today proved was that Stafford is a much better QB after three games than Campbell after 4 years. That's all today proved.
Check the stats, Ray. Campbell 97.6, 340 yards passing, two tds. He also gained a third of Deadskins rushing yards. He whipped Stafford in every category but interceptions (1). What was proved today is that Campbell is the whole offense because the OL is the worse Redskin OL in modern history. Your opinions are as hopeless as Zorn's play calling.

Check Campbell's stats. It would be hard to lose 361 yds. Why pick on him when the OL picked up 42 rushing yards. Why not wait until you have a chance of making your case.
Campbell had great stats and put up a great performance. I think that if he had one pass back, it would be the fade pass to MK that was a little high, not the int. Besides that play, he played tough and showed emotion I thought. He's never going to cuss a guy out in front of the camera but he does speak his mind and tells people when they make a mistake. I think that if Zorn were to keep allowing JC to throw the ball, that should open things up for CP.

If we replace Campbell next season it will probably have to be via the draft , so to get a good QB we will need to suck this season (have made a good start on this already) or trade up to get one. But even with a good QB will the OL which will be another year older, be able to cope?
Another opinion without anything to back it. JC personally acounted for 361
yards today, against 42 for the OL in rushing mode. We need to spend all of our draft picks on OL next year. It's that desperate.

almost half that was in the last 5 minutes against a prevent defense.
We need a GM
Totally untrue.
I know you can't be arguing that needing a GM is totally untrue, so I suppose it's his stats against a prevent. He had 200 yards passing at the 5:26 mark. The Lions played 4 linebackers in a middle zone and 5 backs in an umbrella zone guarding the sidelines....prevent defense. He racked up 140 yards, 40% of his yards, whatever not wasting time with this
We need a GM

I mentioned this is another post, but it's maybe it's worth repeating. Let me know cause I think it's a pretty good idea
We need a GM. Fire VC right now...this week. Do not wait!
Hire Holmgren as the GM. Have him assess the situation. He can then evaluate AND HELP Zorn for the remainder of the season. If he decides to go a different route at the end of the season, at least he's got as full season under his belt to get a handle on the players. This way we aren't giving up on Zorn per say, or JC for that matter. Just getting someone in there who can give us a clear direction for the future.
Miss you 21

There are many problems with this team, but to say that JC is not one of them is deluded. Yes, his stat line looks pretty good, but the bottom line is that we've struggled to score 20 points for the past 3 years? This includes two seasons with Portis easily over 1,000 yards. How do you not hold a QB accountable for lack of scoring for 3 seasons?
As for today's game, his only scoring play he had plenty of time for a wide open Santana Moss pass, nothing spectacular on his part (more of a good play call). The problem with JC is he doesn't take chances. If you're not throwing picks and you're still not scoring many points, means you're not taking chances. And it's not like the don't call downfield plays. The times they do go long he throws in two double/triple coverage, he misses badly, or he passes to the check down (like all day today).
It says something when fans of all your rival teams don't fear your QB and are happy if he stays. We don't

Accidentally hit enter...
What good are stats if you're not scoring, and not winning games?

Stats ... Stats ... Stats ...
I did check them. And the stats are (drum roll) 19 -14.
Tons of yards ... very few points ... another disastrous loss.
Just for you crazyhorse, I broke down his numbers from this game.
Q1: 6/8 80 yds 0 td / 0 int - 0/1 3rd down
Q2: 2/5 21 yds 0 td / 0 int - 0/2 3rd down
Q3: 4/8 94 yds 1 td / 1 int - 0/2 3rd down
Q4: 15/20 133 yds 1 td / 0 int - 2/5 3rd down
Total: 27/41 340 yds 2 td / 1 int - 2/10 3rd down
I know my yardage totals don't add up, its because of the laterals at the end of the game.
Super conservative game managing play until the game is almost out of reach. I did the research, and I only bring this up because he does this every week! He's the definition of mediocre until the 4th quarter, every week!
Look at the 3rd down numbers. Look at the redzone efficiency. I'm not going to dig up stats for all of his games to try and support this but I saw it with my own eyes. The stats back up what I see with my own eyes.
If this team would play all 4 quarters in desperation mode like they do in the 4th quarter, they'd be world beaters (especially Campbell) but he doesn't.
- We aren't as talented as we thought we were. Secondary stinks, QB makes mistakes without taking chances, RB and o-line is banged up and/or old
- Offensive play calling isn't as terrible as you think. Calling different plays that also don't work won't change anything. Funny that many have criticized Gibbs and Marty for the same thing. Perhaps we don't have the personnel to be more aggressive?
- Defensive scheming is not all it's cracked up to be. Our blitzes almost never get through. QB, even rookies, aren't confused
- We aren't the worst team in the league. The Rams are worse, and possibly the Bucs (we'll see soon), the Chiefs, the Browns?
- The season isn't lost. We're 1-2 and we have a lot of work to do. We can beat a lot of teams, but as today showed we can lose to anyone also.
- If we all hate Snyder, why does everyone want to act like him and dump Zorn after a slow start? You're no better if you support that.
- This isn't fantasy league, JC's stats don't cover him from blame. Watching the game, we scored 14 points. The easy pitch and catch to Santana didn't impress me, nor should it, which is a big reason for those stats. His one pick was a terrible read, and he made several other bad decisions that we didn't pay for (the Lions did give us a bunch of breaks). He has to make better throws and better decisions in order for us to win.
- We don't have good coaches knocking down our door. With Danny and Vinnie, why would they? I don't want a coach who would come to a bad situation merely for dollars (Nick Saban anyone?)
