Anyone else hope Todd Collins starts?
According to the skins website JC has a swollen ankle. Considering his biggest plays were from scrambling in the last game, does anyone think he may be out for the next game against Detroit?
I know a win is a win but not scoring any TD's will make any fan depressed. Not too mention calling pass plays to guys with bricks for hands in the redzone....( still love you Sellers)

all i know is that with less than 15 minutes of possession time, the Colts scored 27 points last night on the road against an average (at least) Miami D... we had the ball almost 35 minutes, and scored 9 against the lowly Rams D while at home... our O is pathetic so far under Zorn... in the Express this morning, they brought up the fact that Gruden and Shanahan both run the WC offense, which I was unaware that Gruden did as well; so there shouldn't be big adjustments needed after this season, haha... hopefully things will go in a different direction before then, but we'll see...
My children, gather round! No retreat, no surrender; that is Spartan law. And by Spartan law we will stand and fight... and die. A new age has begun. An age of freedom, and all will know, that 300 Spartans gave their last breaths to defend it!
Todd
Play calling wasn't great but there were some definate dropped passes, along with other opportunities missed.
I was impressed that JC used his legs to get first downs however his accuracy wasn't great.
Jon Gruden does run the WC offense and he's a great coach. AND I would be happy to have him. BUT and this is a big BUT. He is a TASKMASTER. Ask any former player and they will tell you he can OVERWHELM you during the week with TOO MUCH info. Jeff Garcia was on the radio up here (PHILI) talking about his former coach this week. It was a good review for Gruden from Garcia but the Skins had that type of a coach in Marty Shottenheimer and that experiement didn't take. Although given a bit more time I think Marty would have done fine.
I think Todd Collins should get a shot next week.

Todd hasn't proven anything since the Seattle fiasco. If he was so good, he would have taken the job away from JC, but he didn't.

He is one hit away from ending his career and with our current offensive line, you have to consider he WILL get hit, fumble, etc. He has little running ability.
I think that's my biggest negative vs Collins; no mobility.

I have nothing against TC. The guy has heart and helped the Skins get to the playoffs once before. In fact I like TC alot.
I am not in favor of benching Campbell for TC. For the simple fact of how critical these upcoming games are. It is a perfect opportunity for JC to start getting the taste of victory.
He has to find his rhythm and confidence. Start taking those chances. The first game JC faced a very talented pass rush in the Giants. In the Giants game he had a fumble and an interception. The Rams game he progressed by having no turnovers.
So I am anxious to see the growth process.

I think this is more a question of if JC can play with the injury, not whether or not he should be benched.

If Campbell is not able to run the offense then by all means put Collins in but only if Campbell cannot go.
If Collins does play and we win this weekend it will most likely be because Zorn has seen what has happened the last two games and now realizes what he has to do to be a better play caller - then Campbell can take back the reins as soon as he's capable of running the offense again because he's the better QB
I would just love for this to happen as it will cause some here to go absolutely ballistic for the next week

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I hope Collins starts. Campbell is not a credible QB at this point; you can't be competitive with good defenses as an offense or as a team if you have no deep threat. Santana Moss did not coincidentally become a poor receiver when Campbell got the starting job. As poorly as our FO has provided for the offensive line, I'd still rather have a relatively immobile QB that can make quick reads and at least has a possibility of getting a long completion, than one who cannot throw a deep ball and is consistently slow.

I'm not sure TC has the arm strength at this point to get the ball deep.

Agreed, and you and I sure aren't going to downplay a Wolverine. But to expand on your points on JC, it's not just him but the entire O and Zorn calling plays getting in sync. Changing QBs changes everything. JC did play better then last week and moved the ball, we need to keep developing that, not jump around and take wild stabs which most certainly will just lead to worse and not better results.

Maybe not but he should at least get a chance to show that. And if he doesn't work, bring up number 3, whoever that is. It's mind-boggling that this team has degenerated to the point where even demonstrable incompetence is no longer unacceptable in the QB. In the days of Williams, Rypien, and Schroeder, the QB either got it done or number two was given a shot. Nowadays, our management is so dysfunctional that even 5 years of mediocrity and excuses is deemed acceptable, and half our fans are just as dysfunctional. What a sad state of affairs.
