What's up with Taylor?

Post by REDEEMEDSKIN »

I know June 1st cuts are the big news in DC, but something flying under the radar is Taylor and his negotiations with the Skins. Has he hired an agent yet? Does anyone else see this as a problem? Has anyone ever represented themselves in the past? Taylor may hold out after all... Zoyks!!!!!!

I DEFINITELY voted for "it's only June"...i don't think ANYONE's 1st round draft picks have signed yet.

If he still doesn't have an agent one month from now then I'll worry.

Surferskin is right on the money! It is very early and no 1st round picks have signed yet. I am confident that signing Taylor will not be a problem

I read a story just this morning about some agents being upset with other agents who were already agreeing to contracts for low round picks. Their argument was that there is a greater sense of urgency, and as a result, a higher salary, if you wait until July to begin talking.

So there should be no concern about Taylor yet...

Here's the link. Scroll down to the third story.

I may be mistaken, but I think the very highest picks in the draft sign in order. For example, Eli Manning will sign first and based on that signing the market value of the second pick is determined and so on.
I am in a state of ecstasy! Never mind that nonsense about euphoria and so on. It is sheer, unadulterated, uncompromising ecstasy!

I belive it doesn't matter. The first round #1 pick usually will hold out for as much as possible, however whoever signs first signs first. That individual will dictate what the going rate for the first round players will be. I think they try to hold out as long as possible to see what they can get but someone will sign and that will determine by scale who should get what by draft position.

Alot of the considerations of how much a player should make are also based on how much 1st rounders went for last year. There's a certain percentage that they add to last year's numbers, and start from there as a ballpark.

But after that, it is pretty much players holding out until one of the 1st rounders signs. Whoever signs first gets (proportionately) the lowest deal. I don't care, as long as it doesn't affect Taylor's attendence at training camp. Those are precious moments, and he should be soaking up Gibbs goodness every second that he gets.

Wow, this is a toughie.
Let me go out on a limb here and just say...
"Huh ?"
After he picks an agent, it'll be easier to call this one. For right now, everything is in the deep freeze.
