Bright spots despite gloomy outcome. Season not over yet!

Post by HEROHAMO »

Jason Campbell will lead this team to the playoffs.
Yesterday we all seen Jason Campbell make a couple huge mistakes. All on this board know that I was not a huge JC supporter either. However I did see what I needed to see out of JC.
There were many moments in which I saw JC make nice crisp reads and quick throws. In fact the drive in which he made the interception he was driving the team down the field and had them in position to get at least a field goal. The fumble he had he should have stepped up in the pocket. That can be watched on film which they are doing at this moment.
So the mistakes he made can be fixed with a few minor adjustments. So what I needed to see from him I seen.

The scheduele we have is also favorable. So this is the way I see it playing out this season. The first half of the scheduele will serve as games for JC to build confidence. Setting up the second half of the scheduele for our tougher opponents. By the time the second half comes around JC will be ready.

JC will lead us to an 11-5 record. Making a bid for the wild card or maybe even the division. I am putting my rep on the line. Here we go. Lets go baby! Wooo!

I'm with you herohamo!

Finally somebody with some guts who isn't screaming doom and gloom. I agree with you on Campbell. Not stepping up in the pocket was a stupid mistake that, when he saw it on film, I am sure he will be angry at himself and it will stick with him. In regards to the interception, I was more upset that he threw the ball after crossing the line of scrimmage than I was with the actual pick. At the same time I was pleased that he was trying to make plays and get somthing going. Overall he really did make some decent throws and was leading the team down the field. I wanted Zorn to call more pass plays and less runs. The running game wasn't going anywhere. I was a little dissapointed to see Campbell audible to a run on third and eight. Our line was doing better pass blocking than run blocking IMO.

I liked to see DeAngelo get on himself for getting beat and I have a feeling the receiver he covers next week is going to suffer for it.

Bring on the Rams. There is some payback to be had.

My wife went to UC Santa Cruz. Cool city.

As for the Skins, I would not be surprised to see them go to the playoffs. Hell, we have the talent. We just have to get our head out of where ever it is and put it all together.

Wow...Dood the constant sun in Cali has blinded you a bit. We're going to make the playoffs? Playoffs? Playoffs?! Jim Mora couldn't say it better.
We certainly not winning the division and not sure we can make the Wild Card. Trust me... I want to believe, I'm hoping for the best. However this team has let me down too much. I'm not drinking the cool-aide just yet.

I like your enthusiasm but, in my opinion, the reality is that IF this team makes the playoffs it will be more because the better teams on our schedule do not play up to their abilities than our team being the better team on the field that day

We have an easy schedule for the most part and could even get to 9-7 but while this team is made up for the most part with some very talented players this team was not put together by people that know what they are doing and as a result we do not have the talented players we have making the other players around them better. That, combined with coaches not getting the players on the same page and ensuring that the talented players make the others around them better makes for a talented group of players and coaches but not necessarily a very good team.

I would love for the team to get to the playoffs but I also hope we have a season that shows we are on the right track and does not mean that we have to continue to make wholesale changes to staff and players next year

Zorn, Blache and Campbell need to get their acts together
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

Guys I think that main thing here is we have to prove that we can be MUCH more consistent on both sides of the ball.

The Giants punted 1 time!!!

We have to stop being so conservative on defense and put some pressure on people. Everyone knows Eli can't do anything on the run.

A lot of this simply comes down to zorn and blache need to stop playing to not lose and start playing to win

Don't be too surprised about this post. After we whip the Rams this weekend, everybody will be singing praises.

At least Sunday we looked like crap, IMO, and still had a chance to win the game. That was the only encouraging thing. I don't doubt that we can make the playoffs if JC can step up his game...fast.

Remember we were supposed to whip the Rams last year too...

I hope we whip them though because that would show we are a far superior team than the Rams like we should be. I don't want us to barely squeak out a win like we did with Detroit and Cleveland last year. I know a win is a win in this league and you take them any way you can, but any thing less than a double digit win, with a dominant defensive effort and a productive offense against the Rams, I would consider not that impressive.

If we can start putting away the teams we are supposed to put away, like whipping the Rams easily I may come around. If we eek out a win my feelings on this season wont change much.

You're nuts! This is exactly the same, crappy team we had last year. If anything else, maybe a bit worse. At best this team goes 8-8, but more probable they'll go 6-10.

I second that when is a mistake a mistake and when is that behavior a chronic fault that cannot be fixed. I see the D-line making many mistakes in their pass rush (not staying in lanes) allowing QB to step up (that's why I thought we got Fat Al) also that leads to long screen plays. Furthermore, the offense inability to hold blocks in the run game (Are we weak, slow, not good enough, or too old????) CP not hitting the holes fast enough (I know AP is much faster he hits the hole like CP used to, but CP was always praised for having good footwoark and quick feet) I know I have a glass half empty approach, but until they prove me wrong I'm still cautious.

When Portis first got here, the complaint was that he lacked patience to let the play develop and hit the hole too quickly...now he's getting criticism for not getting there fast enough? Portis is not the problem. He's not going to go for 80 yards anymore, but get him some blocking and lookout.

We wouldn't need Portis to score on every touch if we had a competent aerial game.

I'd guarantee offensive competence before I'd go as far as to guarantee a playoff spot.

Yes, I think that the Giants will finish third in the league this year. The top spot will be left for the Skins or Cowboys, it is a long season, Making it even more important not only to win the so called easy games but too to define themselves and to play well. Redskins football needs consistancy.
I love watching and waiting to see what the hecks going on.

This year we finish 10-6, second in the division and get the wildcard. I really think this season is going to surprise some people. I think campbell is about to shut all of the doubters up.
