How to beat the giants.......

I say pound the ball right down thier throats. Its what were built for and will wear down thier smallish front four who are devestating if fresh and at rushing the passer. Then come back to play action/ quick screen stuff to keep em honest.

I clinton gets 100 we win

On d stack the box and force eli to beat us with the young wide outs

+2 turnovers would help.

Put pressure on Manning - sacks, knock downs and hurries.

Establish the run - and stretch the field.

They have a good rotation on the front. Kicking Eli's butt is the key.

Nope. Start stretching the field from the beginning. Scare them a couple of times and that will keep their safeties back. Then shove it down their throats.

I do understand the concern with their pass rush but we need to take a shot or two downfield early. If the pass rush gets to be too much then hit em with screens and slants. CP will get his carries and his yardage but one dimensional will not get it against their defense.

I agree completely.. Their two top corners, Dockery and Ross, are injured and might not play. We should take advantage of that early while testing our passing game. Get Campbells confindence up with some short slants and screens then let it rip.

First play from scrimmage will be Portis off tackle to the left side, second play slip screen to Kelly, third play drag route to Cool

ey, punt. They need to be as multidimensional as possible they are too predictable. For example, they run when it's a "running down" they pass when they have to hopefully they will attack. You cannot beat an attacking style defense with conservative offense in any sport. If the line is on their heels in the first quarter it will be a long game. I hope they open up the playbook and let players make plays. Lastly, half time adjustments are critical we haven't had a coach that was effective at making adjustments at half time since Gibbs I. No more two yard routes when we need 7. Everyone have a safe and enjoyable weekend, we've been waiting nine months for this. Go Skins!

This may be a bit of a punk play but getting creative may be a good tool to use. I think by throwing deep, and short allowing the WR to come back for the ball may open up some PI calls. I think that we have some players here that have "home run threat" ability. If we throw deep, it will draw the lbr's away from the line if we run the ball in passing formations and pass in running formations. But what do I know. I'm just a Monday Morning QB.

Yep I like this. He can't just toss it up in the air and have Plax bail him out this season.

last year the skins were terrible on third down on both sides of the ball. i think we converted about 25% of third downs on offense and let them convert 55% while on defense.

CAN'T HAPPEN.

when the giants have 3rd and 4 on their 23 yard line... GET THEM OFF TEHE FIELD. how many times did they convert passes to plax in the first game to move those chains? the converted a few of those and punt from our 47 yard line, pinning us to the six yard line. feagles in those situations is a weapon. if we had stopped them the first time, we have the ball on our 40 with room to operate.

it all starts and ends with 3rd down. all the things your talking about... i.e. stretching the field... can't happen when we start drives on our 6 yard line.

I know I tend to shock and amaze everyone with my tremendous football knowledge but I think for us, the key to winning is (drumroll) scoring more points than the other guys.

nah, i was just pointing out what we didn't do last year that led to our giants losses. now, that i reread my original post, i probably should have worded that better.

I'm not sure what we need to do to win (scoring more points sounds like a good chance :lol:

) but I do think that beating the giants is not as big an upset as some guys seem to think - I think we are playing them at a better time of the season for us because while we have a fairly good idea of what to expect from both their offense and defense, they do not really have much to go on with our new defensive line and the new receivers.

We may not be a great team but I do not think the giants are a whole lot better either

I never bet on NFL games and do not even like buying lottery tickets but I find it hard to believe the giants are going to win this by more than 3 or 4 points and I certainly would not think a Redskins win is a very big upset :wink:
