Spy or Future backup?
As are many here and in New York, I am intrigued by the signing of Andre Woodson. Zorn claims to have been torn between him and Colt Brennan during last year's draft, but it is hard to ignore the proximity of this move to our season opener against Woodson's former mates. Woodson is 6'4" 230lbs. (in the mold of JC), and had a pretty solid career at Kentucky, capped with a terrific senior season. Is he potentially here for awhile, or indeed just a part-time "spy?" What do you guys think?

I'm sure that the Giants are a tad peeved that this guy got picked up by a division rival... it certainly doesn't hurt that he would have extensive experience with their playbook, which may help in developing our defensive game plan... especially with him running the scout team...
However, knowing the playbook is just a fraction of the information needed to develop a game plan. He will have no knowledge of the game plan that the Giants will develop for the first game of the year against our defense... which would be most helpful. You can bet that the Giants will attempt to do some bait and switch with their offensive formations... setting up to look like something that Woodson is familiar with, but running something else.
I am sure that the FO has more in mind than just getting a little edge for our first game. I think they see potential here.

Woodson was one of three QBs left on the board during last years draft that JZ liked, the Redskins went into the draft knowing the last pick would be used on a developmental QB. Zorn went with CB and he has been hurt from day one. Zorn is lucky to get someone that he had considered and passed on. Woodson is taller and looks more like a NFL QB than CB and played in the SEC. That being said we don't know what the teams thinking is... We are in the same boat that the NY Gints are except we don't have audiables to change in less than a weeks time.

I wonder who is the idiot who is going to argue it orherwise -regardless- of what we -really- think.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

As I posted on another thread with the same topic, what happens if the Giants decide to sign Woodson to their roster on Friday or Saturday? By then he'll know our defensive game plan. We'd have to cut someone to elevate Woodson to our 53 roster and pay him for the rest of year.
Go Skins!!!
I was reading in the paper today about this dwarf that got pick pocketed. How could anyone stoop so low?

I seriously doubt he would know our defensive game plan. The guy will have too much on his plate trying to learn our offensive game plan.

The third Q's job is to run the opposing offense. That is, this week he's asked to pretend like he's the giants offense while practicing against our starting defense.

Understood Tom, I didn't participate in your poll because I don't like any of the selections. I really think this is much-a-do about nothing. If anything the Skins will get more info from him pertaining to the Giants O than the speculated vice versa.

It's a silly poll. No one would sign a player, use and abuse him to gain a slight edge in the season opener. You make an enemy of the Giants who are the only classy org (besides us) in our division. No player would ever think you're seriously interested in them when you sign them going forward. To think we'd do this for this reason is to the point of simpleton.
We have 2 quarterbacks. Our 3 and 4 were busts. The 4 signed to another PS when we were offering the UNDRAFTED ROOKIE the same thing because he was apparently a pathetic little wench. The Gnats cut their third quarterback and we signed him to the PS. Sure sounds like a legit opportunity.

Hail to the Redskins!

We signed a QB that Zorn had some interest in - nothing more and nothing less - I think Zorn most likely thinks the guy is worth looking at and that he offers more than what we had here last week

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)
