A couple of days ago, we were walking down the ancient city of Ephesus, in what is now Turkey. An amazing place, because it is a full-scale intact ancient city...not a museum with an isolated column or statue, but the core of the city, from its ancient marble street flanked by columns uphill past the city library and several temples.
As I looked toward the town-council mini-amphitheater, I spotted a Redskin hat on an older man (meaning a guy about my age!!).
I ran over, asked, are you really a fan, and he said, "Well, no, I'm from Brussels". His daughter began to smile.
I started to ask, "How?", when he looked at my company's baseball cap with logo, and said, "I know that company...Society for Worldwide" etc.
His son lives in DC and is a Redskin fanatic...hence the hat.
"Tell him 'Hail to the Redskins'" I said, and the daughter doubled over laughing.
The Redskins rule the modern world and the ancient world, as well!
Redskin hat sighted in Ephesus!

I was in the Subway in NY earlier this week and met a family (father, mother, older daughter and a young kid of about 6 or 7 years of age). The young kid was wearing a Skins T shirt.
RiC (to the kid): Are you a -real- fan?
(While the parents look anxiously at me as a stranger around a full crowd of commuters)
Kid (proudly answers): Yes, I am a fan of the Washington Redskins!
RiC: Hail to the Redskins!!! Give my five high!
Kid (with a big smile gives me a high five).
Mother (unexpectedly): Hail Victory!
Father (astonished at the development but clearly uncomfortable with a crowd of potentially opposing fans grabs her arm)
RiC: Braves on the warpath!
Mother, son and RiC: Fight for old DC!
Daughter is laughing, the crowd smiles and the father is horrified but we arrive at the next station (Union Square) and everything is fine.
RiC arrives to Union Square from Grand Central with a big smile on his face.
I will look you up one day in NY, Welch. It will be fun. I am going back to Canada sometime next week.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
