Game Day Thread - Redskins @ Jaguars

Post by SkinsFreak »

Please post all game related discussion in this thread. And just a friendly reminder, this is a PG forum, so let's remember to keep it clean.

***

As this will be the final pre-season game, this will be the last chance for hopefuls to showcase their skills in hopes of making the team. Cerrato said there are about ten players they will be watching very closely and could earn a spot of the final 53-man roster.

I am anxious to watch a few players in particular. I hope Anthony Alridge gets plenty of carries tonight and I hope he makes the best of it. I believe he has a good chance of making the team if he does. I'll also be paying close attention to the play of Edwin Williams and Mike Williams in hopes that we'll have some decent depth if either or both make the squad. LB Darell Young has earned some praise lately and he could be a surprise addition to the final roster. And as crazy as it sounds, the 3rd string QB battle holds plenty of drama for this game.

GO SKINS!!! HAIL!!!

I hope Mason has a great game. Alridge too.

Yeah, I agree. Vinny said the team may consider keeping 5 running backs on the roster, and I'm assuming one will be FB Mike Sellers. If that's the case, the battle could come down to Mason and Alridge.

I've been impressed with Mason every year since he came out of college and I've also lobbied for him every year as well. However, unlike some, I don't see Mason as a change-of-pace RB. I actually think he's very similar to Portis, although I do very much like his game. Alridge, although not proven to the same degree as Mason, brings the speed and elusiveness you'd like in a change-of-pace back. That said, I'd be happy with either making the team, I like them both.

Oh my God, we're so terrible. After this one we're going to go 0-16. Our backups are terrible, our starters aren't doing anything. Sure they're not playing, like THAT's a legitimate excuse. This is so horrible, we're totally screwed.

Oops, just checked the time, sorry, they haven't kicked off yet. Can someone change the time of this post to say a half hour in the game? Just because I can't watch it tonight doesn't mean I don't want to get my typical doom and gloom we're so screwed post in. Thanks!

Ouch Aldridge....guy must feel like crap. Prolly should have stayed in the endzone but wanted to show what he could do, he'll regret that.
