By the way, saw this yesterday...
Devin Thomas is expected to see action in place of Cartwright on kick returns. Thomas returned kickoffs at Michigan State, but he did not get any opportunities last year as a rookie with the Redskins.

That was just a good play by the CB and not a good pass. You can't put that on DT.SkinsJock wrote:Gibbs4Life wrote:Marko is looking like the next Art Monk
oh good! - I hope we can keep him around - he'll provide more depth behind our other good wideouts
I thought Kelly and Thomas looked a lot better and if Davis had turned around in the end zone he would have had a TD from Brennan and the INT would never have happened
SkinsJock wrote:From my view it was # 86 not # 11 who looked like he should have turned around and I think he would have caught that ball - the pats D did play fairly well which is also an indication of good offensive play by our guys, for the most part
Wahoo McDaniels wrote:Back to Colt Brennan, the guy shows me nothing. The fact that he hit Marko once does not make up for the multiple wide open receivers that he missed. Also, the last toss needed to go 50 yards and it went 30....I thought this guy had arm strength?

As for Devin Thomas, the guy has shown me a lot
There goes your credibility
ChocolateMilk wrote:Okay well tell us what you have seen from Brennan this offseason and preseason. I'd really like to know
You say you aren't throwing him in the trash but that is exactly what you are doing. You are making assumptions about this guy that you can not prove. And I'm talking about this offseason and the preseason games you have seen so far THIS year. We all know he was a straight lazy ass screw up last year. But this is a new year and so far he has done basically everything he needs to do.Gibbs4Life wrote:http://www.redskins.com/gen/index.jsp
Malcom
Marko
Tanaey
Fred Davis
Those are the players Clinton Portis gives by name who he calls "the tools to get rollin'" Any interesting omissions on that list? I know one. #11
"But why G4L? Why would CP leave out Devin when we think he's having
a great camp?"
The answer is in the details
One of those players listed is Marko Mitchell, this is not the first time CP has praised Mitchell, but it is the first time he gets specific as to the reasons why he believes MM is valuable the two attributes he lists are "attitude" and "the will to compete and get better"
"Attitude" and "The Will To Compete and Get Better"
Devin Thomas was drafted and handed a large contract, he's "shown" me poor attitude through his work ethic and a lack of will to compete and get better through his play on the field. Marko is the anti devin, humble, hungry, not that Devin isn't hungry but he's hungry for the wrong reasons.
If I could promise Devin he'd cld be famous but his team would always lose, or he cld go largely unnoticed but his team would always win, he'd rather be famous; THE GUY IDOLIZES MICHAEL IRVIN nough' said.
I'm not throwing 11 in the trash but he has a long way to go to prove me wrong. And it's going to get tougher as we bring in players with the right ATTITUDE and THE WILL TO COMPETE AND GET BETTER like MM
SkinsJock wrote:SkinsFreak called it - I was only looking at the end zone and missed the fact that Brennan had to throw the ball earlier![]()
I still feel that we will see Kelly, Thomas and Mitchell make this squad - these 3 look like being a part of a formidable passing offense in the very near future![]()
I am glad that the trio of Davis, Kelly and Thomas have applied themselves much better these past 6 months - they all are showing the reasons for high expectations and are hopefully going to be a part of this team for many years

Art Monk, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Chris Carter, Randy Moss, and many more...I agree that D.T. must improve his play, but there are too many variables that effect average receiver stats.
Marko is having a great camp. I wouldn't go as far as to say that he's better then Thomas or Kelly but he seams to have a bright future. I think he starts off on the practice squad then moves to the roster by mid season. If your going to refrence late round WR steals start with the most recent Marques Colston.
ChocolateMilk wrote:I'm not trying to say that Marko is a bad player because he has proven so far that he definently has some skills and he knows how to use them. I'm just saying lets at least wait until we are a couple of weeks into the season before we dub him the next Marquos Colston.
Hah yeah I was thinking that too. Who knows if Zorn will even play this guy? Hopefully he does. Throw him in there for those goal line lobs or something. Did you see Kelly attempt that catch? Looked like a fish out of water man hah.Chris Luva Luva wrote:ChocolateMilk wrote:I'm not trying to say that Marko is a bad player because he has proven so far that he definently has some skills and he knows how to use them. Well, before we can make a decision he'll need playing time. Zorn worries me about his player management.
