Skins bar help
So I will be in D.C. the weekend of Nov. 8th. We are playing in Atlanta that week so I was wondering if there is a cool bar that you would recommend to watch the game. I will be staying with my sister and her husband is a Pitt. fan. Any help would be great.

funny you say that, I asked the same question sometime in the last two years, and received a similar response...
I recently moved to VA, so I don't know all the smaller local places you could watch the game. However, I have gone to the ESPN zone twice, and it was a good time. You are required to purcahse either $10 or $15 worth of food/beverage per hour, but most waiters I have talked to about it, don't strictly enforce it, they said as long as you continue to order stuff (drinks, etc.) they are ok with it. They have the Skins on a huge TV screen (has to be atleast a 12 ft. screen) and then all the other games on smaller screens surrounding the Skins game. You get a well-diversified mix of fans, but there was always a decent amount of Skins fans there. If this is something you're interested in, sign-up for the ESPN Zone membership (it is free) and then reserve a seat for that day through their website. If you get there at 11 (I believe that is when they open, and don't have to start buying the food, etc. until game time starts), and are a member with a reservation, they will typically sit you in the recliners in the front row, which provides awesome seating to watch the game.
My children, gather round! No retreat, no surrender; that is Spartan law. And by Spartan law we will stand and fight... and die. A new age has begun. An age of freedom, and all will know, that 300 Spartans gave their last breaths to defend it!

There are 3 suburban places listed... any of which would be safe.

Any one of which is safe. What does that mean?
I don't follow the ES board but when I did a google search for Redskin bar dc, this came up.

It looks like it was started a year ago and I didn't read the thread but it may offer some information about bars in DC.

I think pretty much any bar in the city would be showing the Redskins game. Maybe let us know where you are staying exactly and people can suggest some places nearby that might work for you.

If you're looking at Northern Virginia at all, you can try Grevey's in Falls Church (lotsa hometown sports flavor, and a local treasure), or the newer sports bar in Northern Virginia, Velocity Five.
I've been to Grevey's before, and it's a good time. I have not been to VF, but it seems like they've really put their best foot forward to make it a happening place.
Should you decide to check those places out, let me know. I might want to join your party, if you don't mind.
