The task is inconceivable. I'd need to go genre by genre, with subcategories.
This is exactly why I have never been able to burn a CD of songs that I could listen to every day for a week without eventually skipping a few to get to one in the middle.
I've actually had Jim Croce and Yngwie Malmsteen back to back on one such trial.
Going back to the first post, "BR" is a dizzying song...but the best ever? I don't know if I ever considered it as anything but a spectacular job by a middle of the road band. Until 'Wayne's World' came out, I hadn't even thought of it in years.
Sorry, man.

Yeah, I have to agree. I remember when they started playing that song again on the radio due to Wayne's World, one of my friends, who is not a music enthusiast like I am, said "that's the greatest song ever." I was like... "greatest ever? I don't think so."
I mean, it's okay, but like tcwest10 said, that song had been long buried before Wayne's World had it exhumed.

I think Queen is pretty gay along with their song bohemian rhapsody.

Everyone knows Freddy was gay. It is just that most do not care. He made good music so who cares?
Anyhow this thing called love is my favorite Queen song.

Dismissing an artist because of his orientation is ridiculous, IMHO. You'd have to tar Elton John, Pete Townsend, Johnny Mathis, Micheal Stipe, Tchaikovsky, Joan Baez, Liberace, Leonard Berstein, Melissa Etheridge and k.d. Lang with the same brush. What goes on behind closed bedroom doors and your value as a person (much less an entertainer) are not relative.
Having said that, Freddie was bi. His greatest love, according to his bi-o (
), was with a woman.

I actually like one Queen song (under pressure) so I wouldn't say I am dismissing the band as artists. I just don't like Bohemian Rhapsody and think most of the song is fu fu which makes me think of a guy with sugar in his tank. I like Prince although he is probably more metrosexual than gay.

hello buddy how are you dear i read your comment it's great i like it dear i learn alot of things from your comment i hope everyone likes your post dear thanx for this information.
Is Bohemian Rhapsody the best song ever?
Yesterday, I was riding into work listening to Bohemian Rhapsody and thinking that it has to be the best song ever written and recorded. The arrangement and skil level of that song is just rediculos.
If it isn't in your Mount Rushmore of songs then you have either never heard it, I mean really heard it on a good system cranked up, or you just have extrordinarily BAD taste in music!
Then "Queen" is on American Idol last night. Well the last two memers of Queen were anyway.
Check out michaeljohnsfans.com Another unanimous 'yes' vote for Mike who blew the judges away with 'the best audition of the day': Randy: 'Dog I've been a fan since day 1, I'm still a fan that was very nice, very nice' Simon: Michael. Best audition of the day. Randy, yes or no? Yes! Yes! Yes! Paula? Yes! Three 'yes's! Ryan: Potentially the best so far - very good news. 'We've never had such positive feedback at this stage in the game which means the contestants still left to go have a lot to ...

Okay, I just had an epiphany (thanks Pandora). My absolute favorite song when I was a young kid (we're talkin like 1980ish) was Another One Bites the Dust. I had completely forgotten that was Queen.

You are entitled to your opinion and if you had just said you didn't like the song I would have been good with that, but come on, "fu fu". THAT has to be influenced by what you think of Freddie Mercury. The song is 5 and a half minutes long and doesn't have a refrain. Not too many songs longer than 4 minutes w/o a refrain. Combine that with the multitude of different styles of music that are seamlessly integrated and the fact that every member of the band sings parts of the song. I think it is the ANTI fu fu song.
Queen has so many great songs, to bury a song because of what you think of the lead singer is sad! It is funny that you like "Under Pressure" because it is a combined Queen/David Bowie piece. And like Freddie, Bowie would F anything with a pulse male or female.
