Anyway, Todd McShay says he's a good bet to have double digit sacks this season, but even if he doesn't succeed right away I don't think the team is gonna make the playoffs next season, maybe year after next when we get hold of a QB.

Yeah he is small but he is really strong. I think he will do great as a DE. I'm happy with this pick.

awesome pick, i LOVE it... i am a HUGE Longhorns fan... i was getting updates via ESPN mobile today, and updated just after Denvers pick, and i saw they didn't take Orakpo... no lie, less than 10 seconds later my brother was calling, and telling me who the Skins drafted, i was cheering, great pick in my opinion...his nickname at UT was Brian O"sack"po... so, let's keep that tradition going here...

NIce pick. Just spent a couple hours earlier watching some YouTube highlights of this young man, and I hope we can get him signed right away.
Given the size of the O- linemen playing for TTiT, we've got plenty of work to do before his first game.
Again, nice pick. We'll add depth at the other positions as we go along. This is like that one nice piece of a puzzle that makes you want to put it together faster to see it done.

You're right, we have no "depth" at RB, SS or OL.
And if we'd picked Oher or another position, you'd be screaming we still have a huge hole at DE.

-Chris Samuels is great but we don't have a starter at RT thus not league average.

-We have Robert Thomas and H.B. Blades as our only SLB's. No depth and no league average starter.

-We have Chris Horton and Reed Doughty as strong safeties. Neither is league average.

-Randy Thomas is great when healthy but he's hurt. There's little depth behind him. Rinehart is a good prospect but has shown nothing and has not even gotten into a game.

At CB we have Hall and Rogers who are great corners, but Smoot is the only one behind them and his skills are eroding. NO DEPTH.

Portis is great but Betts is too similar a runner, and he's not capable of carrying the workload as he showed last season. Who's behind them? Rock Cartwright? We had to use Shaun Alexander last season, obviously a lack of depth.

At center Casey Rabach is a good player but we have no backup for him on the roster.

If you want to rebut my comments, try comprehending them first. I put DEPTH in quotes and specically mentioned RB, SS and OL DEPTH. Have you looked at our roster recently? I guess you expect a Pro Bowler at every position of DEPTH.

In the artical on skins.com . it states Orakpo should get lots of playing time rookie season. I think he is a good pick

I don't know if anyone has said this yet? Doesn't Orakpo kind of remind you of Dexter Manley? They are kind of the same build. Orakpo is a bit bigger. But they sort of had the same build, playing style. Of course Orakpo has some ways to go as far as NFL accolades are concerned. But, we will see. I am happy with the pick for sure.

Someone on th NFLN made the comment that he's going to be RDE...which doesn't make sense. he's at 265 now, which isn't small. If he bulked up a little and doesn't lose any explosiveness, we'll be good to go.

I think Horton played his TAIL OFF! He got caught on a few plays with his pants down true... but he also made some spectacular plays and with some coaching could be a damn solid player... I don't get you eternal pessimists.

Horton had a great year. He could start on most any team in the league. He is not average at all.

He can cover. Can tackle really well. He has great instincts. He can hold on to the interception. Nothing average about that. Once his contract is up teams will be lining up to pay him a nice contract.

Maybe it will work but it seems like letting a guy play ONE position and learn that until it's down pat makes sense. Everything I've read says Orakpo can't cover and isn't fluid enough to keep up with receivers.

What he can do is finesse OR power over linemen and pound QB's into the turf.

He's a bit large to be playing cover LB. We don't play 3-4, so I see him as a our DE heir apparent to Daniels. He can bulk up and get to 275 and not lose too much. 275 is enough mass for the elite to succeed on the strong side on. Is Orakpo elite? Strahan did it even lighter than that.

He's known for being a workout warrior, so it's not unrealistic to expect him to be able to gain a lot of weight. I personally can't wait to see this guy in action. I want him to absolutely streamroll Tony Romo next season.
