That's the clueless vote, there's a large base of that in any survey.

That's good to hear. Since none of the coaches are saying publicly he's ready for prime time, the number of fans calling for him now is perplexing to say the least. But it's good if he's progressing.

JZ recently said that we would see a lot of CB in the pre-season and that we would be impressed. He said that Colt had really improved AND then followed that up by saying something like "He hasn't improved enough to challenge Jason for the starting job, but he has improved an awful lot"
So that say to me the thought of CB starting over JC HAS crossed JZ's mind. Why mention that he hasn't quite done enough to over take JC, if the thought hadn't crossed your mind.

Some people want anyone other than JC. So he has to say that.

Waht are you talking about? That is a perfect reason not to say that. Why would a head coach even remotely insinuate that the 3rd QB has a chance of starting. Expecially if there is a ground swell of a fan base that would like to see him given a chance.
Makes no sense.

What I should have said was because some people would love to have anyone other than JC, Zone said he (CB) was not ready.

Brennan looked good in a couple of pre-season games last August. Not enough evidence to judge.
Sanchez is a big-name college QB. So was Steve Spurrier, and so was Ryan Leaf. So was Heath Shuler and so was Gary Beban. There is no way to predict whether he will be a good NFL QB.

You didn't get what I said in my orriginal post. CB must have impressed Zorn enough to even have to stop and think if he had progressed enough to unseat JC. If he wasn't close, Zorn doesn't even bring it up and shouldn't have. A smart coach would never have said anything that could be misconstrued that CB was anywhere close to JC.
But it was clear by Zorn's tone of zoice he had thought about weather CB was better than JC and had come to the conclusion that he wasn't ready to unseat JC yet. WHY SAY THAT!

"It's an interesting thing, cause Colt is progressing. And one of the things that's happening with Colt is that he's hearing some of the things talked about, and then he's thinking about those things. I walked up when he was on the line of scrimmage, and I said, 'Listen, we're talking about all this technique and all the mechanics of this stuff, but eventually you've just gotta play. You've just gotta drop back and play.' We're not trying to create 'I look down on my first step. I rocker back on this or that.' It's all about knowing those things and him just doing them naturally, and that's what we're trying to get to. So he's got a ways to go, but he's progressing very fine and this is a step up for him, because he didn't even get to practice last year at this time."
"Well, I really like the position that Jason's getting himself in. He's making much better decisions, because he knows the offense, he's not just learning the offense. And then we're putting him through the paces of working on his release, getting those releases efficient. As quick as we can get that ball out, he's getting it out. And he was very accurate this week. Pretty impressive, some of the things that he did. But ball speed and accuracy, you can't put a premium on that, and, whoof, he was good."
