Some quick highlights of the Redskins’ schedule:

For the second year in a row, the Redskins open the regular season against the New York Giants at the Meadowlands.

The Redskins play two home games on Monday Night Football: Week 7 vs. Philadelphia and Week 15 vs. the Giants.

The Redskins also play a home game on Sunday Night Football in Week 16 vs. Dallas.

The bye arrives midseason, in Week 8.

Four of the final seven games are against NFC East opponents.

For the second year in a row, the Redskins play consecutive road games at Dallas and at Philadelphia.

For the second year in a row, the Redskins close out the regular season on the West Coast with a matchup against the San Diego Chargers.

WOW second half of the season is brutal… three primetime home games all against division rivals... Campbell and Zorn’s future with the Skins will play out in the last two against the Boyz and Giants.

Those last 9 games are going to be very challenging to say the least but if Zorn's future is dependent on Campbell he better get to work on his resume. I hope that if Zorn has a decent season from the point of view of bettter game planning and the plays do not work because of Campbell's inability to properly execute or because Campbell does not get any help from his line - then Zorn should be given another chance here.

The mistake we keep making here is we keep changing so many things we never get a chance to let things grow - now Campbell to me is a completely different story - he's had enough opportunities in this game - he's just not good enough.

The fact of the matter is you play the games when they're scheduled and you should win the games against the teams that are not as good as you and maybe get lucky and beat a couple of teams that you are not as good as. Last year we saw a number of games we won that were close and we ended up winning but not because we were a better team on the day but because the other team played badly.

We are not a good team yet and it will take a couple of years to get this offense in decent shape but hopefully Zorn is here to see that through.

I certainly hope that Snyder does not just go get the next "hot" coach in here as he has in the past - he should learn from his mistakes
Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

unless this team makes a deep playoff run there is ZERO chance zorn returns

toooooo many big name coaches and big time coaches that are out there

cohwer
gruden
shannahan
holmgren

one of those will coach the skins in 2010....write it down, in stone,.

again as long as there is nto a deep playoff run
2-2|0-4|1-2|0-0
home: 3-2
road: 0-6

Since 2000 the Redskins have scored 40 pts 2 times!!!!
12/30/01 @ NO 40-10 W
10/23/05 vs SF 52-17 W
Two 40pt games in a decade?? serious?? cant make up that sad fact!!

Howd that go for us last year? Jk, I'm glad we get them here too...get some revenge. I'm also glad to see we get to play the Lions again this year. I'm glad to see we are playing the Cowboys at the end of the year again. I like playing them when it matters: either beating them to get in or beating them to keep them out!

you may very well be right but again we'll be changing for the sake of change - I have no problem with changing coaches but only if Zorn shows he is not capable of handling the job.

If any one of those coaches could do a better job this year with this team I would be very surprised - they are flashy and will bring instant press but I would be disapointed if Zorn is out of here through no fault of his own but just because he inherited players who could not get it done.

I think Zorn will show he's capable of being successful but NOBODY has much of a chance with this offense much less any of those flashy coaches you just mentioned.

This team will have a difficult time winning 6 games and the schedule will not affect that at all in my opinion.

The teams we have to play this year - home and away - has been known for a while - the actual schedule that just came out will not affect 'wins' or 'losses' at all - we are going to be very lucky to win 6-7 games this year because of what this team is capable of, with who we have right now and with a good draft in 2 weeks

6-7 wins is possible IF we draft an all world RT AND IF Campbell has a big improvement over last year's performance AND IF Zorn's game planning is drammatically improved. IF we do not get all of those things then we might be looking at 4-5 wins

@Giants Loss
Rams Win
@ Detroit Win
Tampa Win
@ Carolina Loss
Chiefs Win
Philly Win
@ Atlanta Win
Denver Win
@ Dallas Loss
@ Philly Loss
Saints Loss
@ Raiders Win
Giants Win
Dallas Win
@ Chargers Win

That puts us @ 11-5 and I think we win the Division with that record. All our teams have rough schedules...

I think our offense will be better, but not substantially. I think the reason we reach 11-5 is stictly from our defense dominating.

11-5 on the back of a dominating defence would be very encouraging and probable vindication of the Haynesworth deal. It would also allow us to improve the OL in next years draft and so improve things further. The coach would likely stay, as would JC (if he wanted too and if he had had a good season)

An 8-8,9-7 type of season would show we have made no progress in terms of results and in such circumstances I'd expect us to go after a new QB and probably a new coach.

I think Sir_Monk was hoping to get to the game, which is possible for him in StL but not if it's played in DC. ;)

I would say the schedule does make a difference, not only in terms of who you play, but when you play them. I'd argue that its better to play a tough match (say) at the giants in week one as both sides will still be rusty and have not had time to create any momentum wheras playing the Lions early on may not be so good as they will be really fired up to get that first win.

@Giants - Loss
Rams - Win
@ Detroit - Win
Tampa - Win
@ Carolina - Loss
Chiefs - Win
Philly - Loss
@ Atlanta - Loss
Denver - Win
@ Dallas - Loss
@ Philly - Loss
Saints - Loss
@ Raiders - Win
Giants - Loss
Dallas - Win
@ Chargers - Loss

So...7-9. Another good start that leads to a mediocre year.

Another season of not being taken seriously.

Another January with no playoffs.

And another head coach by February of 2010.

Sigh.
