Rocky certainly does not "suck." And while Blades is not a great OLB, he doesn't suck either.

He often leads the team in tackles, but I guess that isn't enough, huh?

I agree, because a guy who has never missed a game in 11 years sucks.
A guy who's averaged more than 100 tackles every year he started sucks.
A guy who has more tackles than ANYONE ELSE this decade sucks.
...any given Sunday....

Yeeeeeaaaa... I'm not so sure about that one Cali dude... Fletcher should have been a probowler last year. He's actually become the heart of the defense *comcast sportsnet* and he may be small but that dude packs a solid punch. Not to mention the items that my main man Vet put up, he's just a great player, definitely the best LB on our squad, hands down.

The problem with saying that he should have been in the Pro Bowl last year is that he plays in the same conference as Beason and Willis so it's going to be hard for him to make it in over those guys. However, he has gotten snubbed multiple times and it's a joke that a player of his caliber has never been to the Pro Bowl.

This obviously isn't addressed to your post, but whoever said that Fletcher sucks has no clue what it is that they are talking about. The guy is one of the best linebackers in the NFL and has done a great job here despite not getting a lot of help from the guys in front of him. He plays hurt and doesn't miss games, doesn't cause off-field problems, is a leader in the locker room, is always in the right position to make plays, and rarely misses tackles. I'm not sure what else you could want from the captain of your defense.

My problem is, I liked MW. Everyone on the team like Marcus. He's a great guy.

We let him go because he's injury prone.

Just to sign this guy.

"Last year, Thomas played in two games, with one start, as a reserve linebacker. He missed time early in the season due to a knee injury and sat out the latter part of the year with a hamstring injury. He was placed on injured reserve on Nov. 5, 2008."

He was a RESERVE linebacker, and still got put on IR. This is better than Marcus? Maybe cap wise, but Id still rather have Marcus.

Injuries weren't Washington's only problems. His play has declined each season that he was here. He produced less and got injured more and he simply isn't a starting caliber linebacker anymore.

We didn't get rid of Marcus to sign this dude. We got rid of Marcus due to injury and decline. This guy plays the same position. He wasn't signed as a direct replacement, especially since the latest rumors are that Blades is slotted to see snaps at SLB.

He was really a diappointment here in StL... especially since, as a first rounder he wasn't even able to stand out on a poor defense... Lovie Smith, his ex-coach had a worse defense in Chicago in 2004 than the Rams did, but Smith had no interest in Thomas after that season when Thomas left the Rams... even though he was being looked at by Green Bay... that tells me something...

As you can see in my avatar I am a big MW fan, but he wasn't playing at the level his contract demanded.

Robert Thomas is a depth guy. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, he is cheap.

OMG lets not pick on London Fletcher. That is like picking on my brother. Is he like Mike Singletary, LT or Lavar or I could name many others. No. But is he leading the league in tackles even before he was a Redskin? He is a bright spot and I dont think anyone was fearing Peirce either.

Last year Fletch was our best player on defense. The man is all over the field, had a pro bowl year and was in on almost every play.

Cali, I don't understand the hate for Fletcher. :hmm:

I'll say one thing about Fletcher... he's one of the few free agents we've ever signed that actually maintained their level of performance after becoming a Redskin...

And he is a one-man wrecking crew against Brian Westbrook when we play Philly.

Looks like a good signing to me since we're not going to get Curry in the draft. He played on the Raiders btw...and Fletch will whip this guy into shape.

Thomas will be training camp fodder...

I sure hope our player experts don't believe we're set at a LB now...
