I understand that you can rationalize this every which way - I'm just interested in getting a team that is successful and I have finally seen that despite all the money we have given to players the results have indicated that we have very little chance of continued success if we keep doing things the way we have since Snyder bought the team.

I do hope that everything works out for our FO but history has shown that the Snyder/Cerrato way of running a team ends up with mediocre results - maybe this is the year

I will be supporting my team and Snyder and hoping they get it done - I'm just getting a little worried based on how well the team has done with trying to do it his way - that's all

like you said - "I'm done" - time to take a nap and maybe when I wake up all will be well with this team again

rest assured however, I will be paying attention because I really love the Washington Redskins - I will be the first to commend you (and others) should this team prove to be a successful franchise again under this "regime"

I keep getting my hopes up each year and then the reality becomes clear when you see that Snyder's way of managing this team and this FO is just not a recipe for success, sorry

Try calling Pat Kirwin up and asking for his opinions on the Skin's signing Haynesworth - not the fact that Fat Albert might be a help to the Skin's defense but the contract itself - there is a difference - he seems to have a slightly different opinion - just saying ....

Oh, well then... Pat Kirwin, the foremost expert on NFL contracts, cap management and contract structures. Yet when respected guys like Clayton, Mortensen and the guys on the NFLN actually break down the contract, they conclude it isn't as bad as some are reporting. And SkinsJock, I mean, please, there will always be a few to endlessly take their shots at Snyder because he's willing to spend a lot of money, and much of it coming out of his personal pockets. But again, the contract price was MARKET VALUE, with six teams offering the same amount, and others even more. I don't give a rats ass about Pat's opinion. The majority felt is was a good move for the Skins, and I do as well.

I'll say it again, all teams need depth - we need a lot of help in the next 3 years on offense and we also have a defense that relies on player rotation, but, instead of acquiring a number of players on the defensive side, our FO brain trust brought in Fat Albert and seem to think that single player will address our defensive needs - NOT HAPPENING - just my opinion, but we will see if Cerrato and Snyder can finally get lucky.

Did you know we are still $8M under the cap for THIS YEAR? I still don't understand why you think the signing of AH will stop the team from signing depth. But whatever... I'm done.

Okay, so who is the starting LE? Who is the starting RT? Who are are top 2 WR's? Who is the LOLB? Who will be the punter and kicker?

Those aren't even addressing depth. Now, who is the backup to Samuels? who is the backup to Rabach? backup to Randy Thomas? backup to either DE spot? Backup to any LB?

You ask who are the free agents we would sign for depth? Umm, there's too many to name. Do we really need to name them for you? Stacy Andrews, Ray Willis, Tauscher, Jason Brown, Stinchcomb are just a few O-line free agents. I don't have time to list all of the players at all positions. We need starters and depth. Does this really need to be pointed out and explained? Now if you think out team is in good shape, then great, tell us you think Albert, Samuels, Portis, Fletcher, ey and Landry are good enough to get us to a Super Bowl with mostly mid-level and below support. Otherwise, we need more depth this year and better cap health so we can improve our team next year and the year after.

I'm sorry to interrupt the - please clarify who made out like we need "masses of free agents"? why do you always seem to need to exagerrate to make a point? are your "facts" lacking that you need to do this?

anyway - back to the topic - We run a defense that is based on substituting players and this requires depth along the line - our defense the last few years has not been too bad on the whole but IMO we need depth NOT a superstar with a history of not being healthy.

Our offensive line is in major need of a couple of starters and depth and .....

I understand that we are under the cap - we always are - that has not helped make for a successful team so far - I'm not concerned about Fat Albert's signing as it relates to the cap - I just feel that it is the way that Snyder/Cerrato do things - they seem to always make the splashy move

The last 2 years we seemed to get away from risky moves and acquisitions and now we are jumping back into that way of doing business again - I understand that we needed Taylor and had to give up the picks and hope things worked - it did not - that just mean't we made a mistake but from wat we saw last year it was obviously going to take a little longer - there are still too many concerns on offense and we need time - Snyder has no patience.

I have not been paying much attention to the media but if you can assure me that we are now doing something that both you and the media thinks is a likely way to making this team successful then please enlighten me.

You ask who are the free agents we would sign for depth? Umm, there's too many to name. Do we really need to name them for you? Stacy Andrews, Ray Willis, Tauscher, Jason Brown, Stinchcomb are just a few O-line free agents.

Here's the thing, though. All the guys that have been signed so far from the list you mentioned were relatively expensive as well (though for some reason I can't locate the Stinchcomb contract).

Albert is going to run us about 12 million a year (as discussed ad nauseum, he basically signed a 4 year, 48 million contract).

The two best linemen named above were Andrews and Brown. And even so, they're okay starters, not great players by any stretch.

Stacy Andrews signed for 6 years, 38 million. (roughly 6 million a year)
Jason Brown was 5 years, 38 million. (roughly 7.5 million per year)

So, in essence, we could have gotten 1 dominant player (Haynesworth), or 2 okay players for a little more.

Hell, I mean Canty got 8 million a year, and he's only had 3.5 sacks as a career high.

Free Agents are expensive. All things considered, 12 million a year for Haynesworth isn't ridiculous.

And Champ was on his way out of town no matter how much money The Danny threw at him. The trade was the only way we could recoup something for our efforts. And Denver has not been able to find a top-tier RB since Portis left.
