Torry Holt released

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

While Thrash and Randle El aren't high production guys, I like to think they're darn good leaders/professionals that can teach the young receivers how to work hard and become good overall NFL players.

I'd rather look for that vet leadership in our secondary, perhaps Samari Rolle.

He's only played 16 games in the past 2 seasons. I think our secondary is fine. We lack leadership on O.

I say if we can get him for the right price, it could be a possibility. I've always liked Holt and I think he could bring some "respect" to our receiving corps.

He'd be a very nice piece. It would also allow Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly to step back, take a breath, and slowl develop instead of us continuously trying to the throw them into the fray.

If we signed him I swear this board would erupt in even more thread about how cerrato and snyder LOVE overspending on aging has-beens. I think we've seen enough of these posts personally. So I'm saying no...but I have been wrong before.

True, but that just means he's rested :). Plus, we're not looking for a starter; we need depth with experience and leadership abilities.

I have to respectfully disagree; Smoot has slowly deteriorate, and who's behind him? Justin Tryon and Byron Westbrook. I am glad we're trying to groom youth, but if either of our starters go down, we're in trouble.

As for Holt, the money he would command does not suit his age; also, he's virtually been in the same offensive system/scheme for his entire career, and I can't foresee him as a WCO guy.

Torry Holt is a player I would like to get as well. He has been there and done that. Still has top end speed and great hands.
Sean Taylor starting free safety Heavens team!

If devin and malcom take any more steps back, take many more breathers, and develop any slower they might as well not be on the roster.

He doesnt have top end speed anymore. Holt has been known for his route running abilities which still allows him to get separation. I would love to have him, but some team will be willing to shell out some bucks for his services.

I thought Smoot played well last year. I'm comfortable with Rogers Hall & Smoot as our top 3 CB's.

Torry Holt would probably feel above the team because of his celebrity status, I'm weary of that attitude i.e. #55

Yup, b/c one year is completely unheard of to get acclimated.
...any given Sunday....

RIP #21 Sean Taylor. You will be loved and adored by Redskins fans forever!!!!!

I sure hope Philly doesn't win his services; I like the match up against their scrub receivers.

I'm glad the Skins' didn't pay for Holt what the Jaguars did, I don't think he's worth 20 million over the next 3 years.

That wasn't a bad deal...
No signing bonus and a lot of it is based on his performance. Year one is $4 million and guaranteed, if it doesn't work out they can cut him and $4M is all he would have costed. Unlike the $11 million they gave Porter last off season. He (Porter) basically got $1 million per catch last year. The Jags had pretty much no WR before they signed Holt.
