Negotiations over between LaDainian Tomlinson and Chargers.

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Negotiations over between LaDainian Tomlinson and Chargers.

Post by Cooter »

Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that negotiations are over between LaDainian Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers. Now all he has to do is decide whether he wants to put his John Hancock on a restructured contract that will lower his salary.

I am glad T.O. left the NFC East and the NFC for that matter, but curious if Tomlinson would land in the NFC or the East. The Cowboys have Jones/Barber, but the Eagles lost Buckhalter and the Giants lost Ward, Bradshaw is serving 30 days in jail and in my opinion doesn't pose much of a threat. Could you picture L.T. in one of those uniforms?

Tomlinson's better years are obviously behind him, but he is still one very good back.

If it's true that Drew Brees is lobbying to get him, New Orleans could be a great fit to pair with Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas in what is already the number one offense.

Update: Chargers pitch restructured deal to LT

The San Diego Chargers have presented LaDainian Tomlinson with a restructured contract offer, though it may not be a final one.

Earlier, it was reported (and ESPN confirmed with sources) that the Chargers had presented Tomlinson with a final offer in an effort to hold on to the five-time Pro Bowl running back. Monday, the team and Tomlinson's agent, Tom Condon, both said that the parties are in the "final stages" of negotiations, but the latest offer is not "take-it-or-leave it."

Tomlinson will return to the Chargers next season

SAN DIEGO -- LaDainian Tomlinson is staying with the San Diego Chargers.

L.T. and the Chargers agreed Tuesday to a renegotiated deal that gives the team salary cap relief and keeps Tomlinson under contract through 2011, Chargers President Dean Spanos announced in a statement released by the team. Tomlinson's old contract was also through 2011.
